About the Opportunity
The Security Engineer will be responsible for identifying, prioritizing, monitoring and reporting information technology (IT) risk and controls including analyzing security risk postures.
Performs analysis of data movement and helps throughout Project Management and System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) to ensure secure network and systems architectures are in place.
Works to understand application and network architecture, behavior and design to deploy and manage applicable technologies for Web Application Security.
Utilizes knowledge and experience deploying, applying appropriate security control configurations/patches/mitigations across a variety of technologies (onprem and cloud-based) applying mitigations to found weaknesses.

• Manages security compliance using the Group Policy Object (GPO).
• Ensures anti-virus tools comply on all devices and monitor, alert, troubleshoot noncompliance incidents.
• Audits User and Service accounts for stale and over-privileges.
• Supports activities related to Firewall Enclaving and Network Segregation.
• Analyze web and network traffic, application and network layer packet data to identify threats and threat actors and design and implement controls.
• Authors and maintains SOPs, policies, and appropriate patch/security documentation including policies detailing patch and security update processes and procedures.
• Engineers and implements security practices into current and future systems and processes.
• Assists with yearly external partner security audit processes/questionnaires.
• Performs vulnerability testing, risk analysis, and security assessments.
• Coordinates third party penetration testing for network and application layers.
• Develops and reports metrics measuring the state of the security program.
• Helps to develop security training and performs yearly education sessions for team member.
• Researches emerging technologies and maintains awareness of current security risks.

About You

• BS degree or equivalent experience in IT, computer science and other cyber security related fields.
• 5-7 years of IT Security experience in Windows environments.
• Deep understanding of a broad range of Application and Network Security issues as well as their mitigation strategies.
• Experience with security controls for onprem(physical/virtual) and cloud-based environments including deploying solutions on public/hybrid clouds.
• Familiarity with successfully navigating organizations through auditing procedures including SOC/NIST security certifications.
• Familiarity with Sonicwall UTM hardware.
• Familiarity with Dell switching hardware.
• Provide great communication and lead discussions to all types of audiences.
• Strong organizational skills, both analytical and problem solving, and the ability to work with sensitive information.
• Security-related certifications are a plus.
