The Leave and Disability Services Manager oversees a best-in-class professional services program that delivers leave of absence, disability, return to work and ADA accommodation case management services to the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Quad’s Leaves & Disability Services Manager will lead a team of Leave Specialists, administering all types of leave of absence and disability life events to foster a safe, trusting work environment that emphasizes professional excellence, teamwork, customer satisfaction and innovation. A great leader will develop team capabilities through mentoring, feedback, training and stretch assignments. As well as, respond to escalations, provide root cause analysis and recommendations, develop remediation and ensure satisfactory resolution.
Compliance
Quad will look to the Leave & Disability Services Manager to ensure compliance with all government regulations, appropriate employee leave protection, including FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, FLSA, PFL, PST and SPSL and ensure that program objectives are in line with the overall goals of the organization. As well as, ensuring the physical security of medical information through compliance with confidentiality protocol in receipt, storage, distribution and transfer of medical information.
As a subject matter expert, this leader will partner with both internal and external Legal counsel to develop interpretations and resolution strategies for complex issues, in order to develop training programs and written procedures to ensure consistency in in the administration of leave and disability programs. The Leaves & Disability Services Manager will also share pertinent information with supervisors and managers to ensure consistent interpretation and application of current programs and policies related to leave and disability administration, as well as analyze outcomes from leave and disability administration programs to identify trends, critical issues, emerging threats.
Competencies
Our ideal candidate will have an extensive knowledge of Human Resources practices and systems, workplace wellness and health promotion, organization health, safety regulations, policies and procedures, vocational rehabilitation, and long term disability. As well as, a confident knowledge of medical terminology, body systems, and/or impairments, and their disabling effects. This knowledge base will enable our new Leaves & Disability Services Manager to have the ability to exercise significant patience, understanding and empathy when dealing with all aspects of leave and disability cases. This manager will also understand the importance of prioritizing the integrity of confidential and sensitive information by possessing fact-finding and problem-solving skills; superior attention to detail and the demonstrated ability to interpret law and make decisions accordingly.
