The Finance Manager is responsible for supporting the performance of the Arizona and California service centers’ accounting and finance functions. We are looking for a passionate, hard-working candidate willing to roll-up their sleeves and become an invaluable member to our team! The ideal candidate will have a firm foundation in accounting principles. . They will be able to proactively solve problems, support the controller team in improving processes. Responsibilities: Financial Planning, Reporting, and Analysis: Manages all the financial functions of local profit center with a total of approximately 30 employees. . Manages the operating segments’ accounting, including the review of journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable and statutory reporting. Work with the Implementation team to upgrade and integrate the IT function into the corporate ERP system that will replace Sage 50 that currently manages month-end and year-end financial closes Budgeting, forecasts, and management of reporting for operating segments. . Assists with year-end audit and reviews and project compliance. Support Regional Controller on completing month-end close Complete schedules of reconciliation for balance sheet accounts Ensure Journal entries are properly applied during period Ensure supporting documentation is noted and supplied as needed Financial statement variance analysis Inter-company account reconciliation Job Costing: Manages all aspects of cost accounting including the preparation, review and analysis of product inventory costing, standard costing, overhead allocation, and variance analysis. . Drives improvement in understanding and analyzing of the cost and profitability by product Maintains insight into inventory and transaction activity, including any potential problem areas such as obsolete or slow-moving inventory, or transaction input errors Manages account analysis and reconciliation of inventory records Coordinates the planning, execution, and reconciliation of the annual physical inventory. Preparation of ad hoc reporting and other analysis for senior management Drives ongoing efforts focused on streamlining, improving, and automating processes. . Analyzes month-end variances, production work-in-progress and shipments Analyzes labor history trends and adjust to proposal requirements using learning curve factors, judgment, etc. Assists in year-end physicals; and/or cycle count inventory issues. . Prepares and reconciles reports, as needed Determine classification and validity of variances and overall inventory valuation Participates in the data collection and research to reduce inventory levels on a monthly basis; communicate possible inventory improvements with Operations Risks, Controls, and Process Improvements: Assists in formulating the company’s future direction and supporting tactical initiatives Partners with Management to provide business intelligence and facilitate data driven decision making. Develops performance measures that support the company’s strategic direction Maintains a documented system of Financial and Operational policies and procedures Understand and mitigate key elements of the company’s risk profile Qualifications: Bachelor or Advanced degree in accounting, finance, or business-related field with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in financial management A thorough knowledge of Revenue Recognition and GAAP and accounting standards. . Contractor/Mechanical Service Accounting methodologies, including but not limited to: Inventory Management, Job Costing, Cash, A/R and A/P, Prepaids, Fixed Asset accounting and Payroll. Strong financial analysis and proven leadership skills Contractor/Mechanical Service / Job Costing experience required. .
