Title: Director, Revenue Cycle Management
Location: 200 Varick St, Manhattan
Salary: $130,000

Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Planning, coordinating, and executing policies, procedures, and strategies to ensure timely and efficient billing and collection and to minimize claim denials for the healthcare programs at Project Renewal. The scope of this position includes revenues pertaining to the medical, psychiatric, substance abuse, Health Homes and HARP programs.
Ensure that cross-departmental operations are optimized and aligned with other operations within healthcare revenue cycle for Project Renewal.
Act as the primary operating officer for the billing and collection unit, managing all day to day operations, budget, and personnel matters.
Work closely with physician leadership to maintain accountability and best practices healthcare information management.
Participate in setting the strategic direction of the healthcare revenue cycle and identify areas of continuous improvement in conjunction with the Controller, Chief Financial Officer, and Executive Leadership.
Continuously evaluate and improve workflows within the billing and collections department.
Evaluate integrity of the data received from operations for billing purposes and work to improve data integrity and clinical documentation as it affects billing and collection.
Assist in strategy development across functional departments to meet or exceed Project Renewal revenue projections, reduce days in accounts receivable, and properly address and ultimately limit denials and write-offs.
Ensure compliance with state and federal law, HIPAA and other regulatory guidelines.
Ensure that internal controls and policies and procedures across departments are evaluated and tested as it relates to the healthcare revenue cycle. Develop and align these controls to optimize the overall control environment of the healthcare revenue cycle.
Identify new technologies to enhance healthcare revenue cycle operations and be the primary business champion for new technology implementations within the cycle.
Develop strategies to reduce the overall cost to bill and collect healthcare revenue.
Work with the Healthcare Contract Manager and clinical leadership to maintain and improve the quality of health information management.
Develop an environment aligned with Project Renewal’s principles, strategies, and core values.
Work to create a positive work culture within cross-departmental teams and align this work with other PRI initiatives.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

o Financial Management (Cash Goals, Bad Debt Management and Cost to Collect)
o Support Functions (Cash Posting, Denial Management, Charge Master Maintenance, Revenue Audit, Financial and Operational Reporting)

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred
Degrees, Licensure, and/or CPA/CMA, CPAM, CCAM, or FACHE preferred. Certifications in Certifications patient access or patient accounting preferred.
Knowledge:
Technical: Advanced understanding of all Revenue Cycle functions and interrelationships. Experienced in budgeting. Non-Technical: Strong leadership presence and skills. Proven capabilities in building and leading teams. Ability to work with others in a cooperative, collaborative manner. Strong written and oral communication skills as well as strong computer/technical skills and knowledge.
