THE ROLE: Account Manager
Job Summary:
The Account Manager will be responsible for selling professional services, management services, and products in the information technology field, particularly to executives in the Commercial and Enterprise space.
The Account Manager should be able to manage a territory and be responsible for a multi-million-dollar quota in both network product resale and consulting services including strategy, design, implementation, network managed services, Cisco, VMware, EMC, NetApp, Dell, and other applicable product solutions. Strong selling skills as they relate to Virtualization, Cloud, Hardware, Computing, and Storage sales with existing and new clients are extremely important. The chosen candidate will work with management to develop account strategy, close contracts, and maintain excellent client relationships.
- Prospecting & Planning: Identifies sales opportunities through multiple demand generation techniques including relationship selling, install base development, Presidio field marketing events & co-sponsored Presidio | Technology partner demand generation events. Builds rapport and educates customers with the use of internal and external resources.
- Qualifying & Analysis: Leads and develops account strategy using customer’s growth plans, budget, and project timelines.
- Proposing & Closing: Submits and presents the customer with a finalized collaborative proposal with solutions, technical & financial justifications, and expected results to overcome objections and win the business with maximum revenue/margin.
- Validating Value: Engages sales management to validate the business impact with the CXO level.
- Building a Business Case: Articulates Presidio’s value and provides an overview of technology products and services.
- Knowledge of the technical aspects of hardware/software subject matter around Cloud, Networking, Security, Telephony, Contact Center & Video Collaboration.
- Based in the Northeast, responsible for the Commercial and Enterprise Named Accounts.
Travel Requirements:
In this role you will be expected to travel up to 20% of the time based on Client Requirements. It will be based in Connecticut and the travel requirements will be mostly Tri-state.
Job Responsibilities:
- Achieve sales objectives primarily through sales to new customers and also through sales of additional services to existing customers.
- Discover client business needs and propose appropriate product or service.
- Manage territory, including account planning and opportunity management.
- Develop and maintain a high level of knowledge about Presidio’s products and services.
- Excellent service is required to ensure assigned accounts meet or exceed client satisfaction through up-selling.
- Properly forecast monthly, quarterly and annual revenue numbers for assigned territory.
- Work with key partners to drive associated product revenue.
- Successfully negotiate contracts.
- Provide feedback from field experience to sales management with regards to product, selling, competitive matters. etc.
- Build and maintain trusting relationships with associates and customers.
- Effectively transfer thoughts and express ideas using speech and listening skills to influence others and gain support.
- Competitive, high achiever who persists despite obstacles, opposition or setbacks.
Required Skills:
- Knowledge and strong working relationship with at least one of Presidio’s strategic partners: Cisco, AWS, Microsoft, Pure Storage, VMware, EMC, Palo Alto Networks, Dell or similar partner certification preferred.
- Highly motivated and able to work independently.
- Strong network and consulting sales experience.
- Creative problem solver.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on persuasion and presentation abilities.
- Excellent telephone skills.
Additional Desired Skills:
- Cold prospecting and cultivating a technically based relationship with client and partners
- Ability to map and correlate continuity points across a large swath of lists and people
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and/or military experience
- 3 – 5 years information technology sales required
- Experience working within the technology infrastructure Value Added Reseller (VAR) space
