The Finance Manager, under the direction of the General Government Director, is responsible for the day-to-day financial operations including general accounting and budgetary support of the County and management of the Department of Administration finance staff.
Principal duties include overseeing the preparation of financial reports, implementing related policies and procedures, reconciliation of accounts, assistance with budget preparation and publication, internal auditing and maintaining of financial records. The Finance Manager is responsible for performing financial duties and Internal Auditor functions as prescribed by Wisconsin Statutes 59.23 & 59.47, and has free access to such books, accounts, bank statements, inventories, bills, vouchers, receipts, and all other financial data as often as may be necessary to perform the required duties.

· Provides back up to other finance staff during periods of absences or peak workloads as directed by the General Government Director.
· Performs other duties as assigned, including, but not limited to, research and execution of special projects.

Education/Experience:
Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree from accredited four-year college or university in accounting, finance, business management, or related field and a minimum of three years’ experience in audit or accounting. Must be knowledgeable in and have experience using and implementing Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Work Environment
Work is sedentary in nature performed within the Government Center or satellite offices/other campus locations. Lifting requirement is 15 – 20 pounds on an occasional basis. Wrist and finger manipulation due to filing, compiling, calculating, or computer work. Equipment used may include, but is not limited to computer, scanner, printer, calculator, telephone, copy and fax machine. Additional physical/mental requirements that occur may not be listed above but are inherent in performing the position’s essential functions.
