Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with a technical support center in South East Asia and East Africa, that provides program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.
As a Finance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily accounting operations, guiding financial decisions and developing a strategic company picture by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
Key responsibilities:
Oversee the completion of internal control audits and facilitating changes to the controls when error, or the potential for error or fraud is identified
Establish and improve system controls for new and existing financial systems, and participate in system implementation through coordination and leadership of the accounting functions
Protect assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls
Provide analysis of financial results with corresponding recommendation
Assess the financial performance against both annual budget and company’s long-term strategy
Oversee budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans
Participate in key decisions pertaining to strategy initiative and operational execution
Comply with local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions
Oversee the Financial and Accounting staff, monitoring, assisting and leading the Finance and Accounting Group.
Perform other responsibilities associated with this this position as may be appropriate
Qualifications To be successful in the role:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
With 5 to 10 years in finance and/or accounting; experience in a leadership role is highly required.
Preferably Certified Public Accountant
Strong Analytical and problem-solving skills Thinking; Attention to Detail; Coordination; Self-Motivated; Ability to lead and influence diverse, cross-functional teams globally
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal; Financial report and analysis; with P&L/Balance Sheet Budgeting and Forecasting experience
Proficient with MS Office Applications and MS Office Excel; Understanding and knowledge of accounting systems; Project Management System Application (e.g. Procore)
