Peraton is seeking Summer 2023 Cybersecurity Engineer Interns to join our Internal Research & Development (IRAD) program which can be supported 100% remotely.
Join our Technology and Engineering Software Delivery Center to support exciting cybersecurity research projects and learn about their applicability to areas such as communications, space, defense, health, and mobile. You’ll have the opportunity to work in a collaborative, supportive environment with our full-time staff, allowing you to grow your skills and your career while building experience in the cybersecurity domain. You’ll work in an Agile software development environment with tasking in areas such as information assurance, systems administration/operations, networking, data analytics, and software development/scripting. You’ll also get the chance to obtain certifications in leading technologies to enhance your skills, such as Amazon Web Services.
Summer internships are remote, work-from-home positions, but there will be opportunities for in-office experiences for interns residing in Northern VA or Southwestern VA. We ask that each intern be available to work the duration of the ten weeks (June to August) and commit to working a minimum of 35 hours per week. This program is geared toward technical college students, actively enrolled at a four-year university, who will be rising into their junior or senior years. However, strong underclassmen may be considered if they have declared their major and have completed qualified coursework.

Required Qualifications:
HS Diploma and some advanced level training.
US Citizenship.
Have completed progress toward a bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, computer science, computer engineering, information systems, or a related field.
Foundational education in cybersecurity technologies and processes.
Hands on experience with cybersecurity tools through coursework and/or prior internships.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to quickly adapt and learn new technologies and concepts.
Self-motivated, independent, detail oriented, responsible team-player.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Desired Qualifications:
3.0 and above GPA.
Exposure to Agile engineering processes.
Experience with software development and/or scripting languages.
Experience with data analytics tools.
Exposure to cloud computing environments.
