Job Summary:
The Vice President Finance and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) has a critical role in Peckham Industries growth and as the trusted supplier of construction materials, products, and services in the communities it serves. The CFO will provide leadership on all matters relating to the finance function ranging from financial report, budgeting and forecasting, business analysis, investment, tax and banking operations as well as strategic planning to deliver on growth strategies. The ideal candidate will be an excellent leader, driving growth and mentorship within the organization. Reporting to and partnering with the CEO, the CFO shall be focused on ensuring that the Company’s financial systems, controls and processes are properly implemented to ensure the Company’s objectives and strategies are executed with discipline achieving best in class operational efficiencies.
Essential Functions:
1. Protect family and friends. A leader that demonstrates health and safety is the top priority for the Company in everything we do and always acting in a safe manner.
2. Committed to Serve. Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance management to the finance team. Oversee and manage the accounting, tax, budgeting, credit, treasury, and capital structure functions ensuring that the interests of all stakeholders are served.
3. Integrity. Review, refine and implement as appropriate all internal financial systems, controls, and processes to ensure the timely and accurate analysis and reporting of all data for timely business decisions in accordance with US GAAP and various other compliance requirements. Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close.
4. Obligated. Oversee all budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning/analysis in a timely manner so that the strategic aims and objectives of the organization are achieved. Oversee the Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Payroll departments to optimize cash flow to meet the organization’s needs.
5. Mastery. Efficiently manage and lead coordination of all fiscal reporting activities for the Company. Ensure proper financial metrics and KPI’s are established for proper ROI decision making as related to key investments and capital allocation.
6. Respect and Engage. Manage relationship with independent accounting firm for annual audit/income tax activities and all related matters. Manage financial relationships with customers, key suppliers, bankers, advisors and other service partners along with the CEO and various leadership team members.
7. Compulsive Tinkering. Act as a key strategic contributor to the overall growth of the business and facilitate longer term planning (3-year plans). Partner with leadership for allocation of funds for projects, forecasts future revenue needs, and analyze expected revenue streams. A core cross-functional partner with Business Development and Performance & Integration teams for evaluating, planning, and executing on acquisitions/dispositions.
8. Results Matter. Report on actual vs. budget for organizational and business unit performance measures to the Board of Directors and manage relationships with the Board’s Co-chairs of various Committees.
9. Ownership and Caring. Ensure that the finance organization is structured and sized to be optimally aligned to the needs of the business. Includes Treasurer and Secretary responsibilities focusing on cash management, forecasting and corporate governance.
Requirements, Education and Experience:
1. CPA with bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; an MBA would be highly advantageous.
2. A minimum of 15 years of progressive, hands-on experience in all aspects of accounting and financial management with increasing scope of responsibilities, including mergers and acquisitions.
3. Construction materials industry and related ERP, e.g., Vista Viewpoint experience a plus.
4. Exhibits exceptional standards of business and personal ethical conduct.
5. Experience working in both publicly listed companies and private/owner enterprise environments.
6. Demonstrated financial acumen with direct P&L accountability for a business or division responsibility of $1 billion.
7. Exceptional communication and presentation skills with all levels of employees, customers, Board of Directors and external stakeholders.
8. Proven leadership in managing multi-disciplined finance teams. Passionate about developing talent and strengthening diversity and inclusion. Seeks out talent to coach and mentor.

Travel:
Position may require up to 20% travel by personal vehicle to offices throughout the state of New York, and New England based on the needs of the business.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers. This is mostly sedentary, outside of travel, in an office space. The abilities to sit at a desk, frequent walking, bending, or standing, as necessary, are required.
