Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Integral role in month-end close and reporting process and maintaining internal control environment
Responsible for all reporting of consolidated financials to external parties, including owners and lenders, on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
Preparation of internal management reporting for month-end close
Preparation of monthly consolidated cash flow reporting and supporting schedules
Assist in tax compliance by reviewing Federal, State, and Local tax returns for various entities including the managing of filing deadlines
Coordinate and manage any tax audits requested by various state and local governments
Maintain, examine, and analyze financial records and transactions in accordance with accounting principles and business procedures, and assist with research of any technical accounting matters to ensure the appropriate accounting and disclosure under US GAAP
Oversee accounting for certain account balances including pension liabilities, and other Company wide balances such as workers compensation and healthcare
Review month-end journal entries and account reconciliations for certain entities and accounts
Ensures all processes are accurately documented and recommends and implements process improvements to improve effectiveness and work flow
Collect and compile necessary financial and economic data to perform meaningful analysis for strategic business decisions
Identify and lead process improvement initiatives to ensure efficiency of processes
Bachelors degree in accounting or finance; CPA designation required
7 – 10 years of experience in an accounting or finance role
Strong understanding general accounting, cost accounting, GAAP and SOX
Strong analytical and quantitative skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects in a timely manner
Ability to adjust to new, different, or changing requirements while conveying a sense of urgency
Experience with SAP preferred
