We are looking for a Director of Finance – Innovation, to support our Product Development and Emergent Food team in planning, measuring, and optimizing key investment decisions across the portfolio. The ideal candidate will possess a high degree of curiosity and learning agility, and excellent financial planning & project organizational skills.
If this is you, you will drive the portfolio target-setting, monthly financial forecasting & budgeting processes within Innovation. In addition to these core responsibilities, you will also lead Innovation Revenue, track key efficiency metrics, support Innovation demand plans, and deliver valuable insights and financial reporting to key stakeholders.
In Innovation Finance we business partner with a dynamic group of creators, at the forefront of consumer trends and opportunities in the non-dairy space. The role of Innovation Finance is to influence positive financial outcomes from innovation and help set up multi-year financial business plans. We help to shape the innovation pipeline, support decisions on individual product developments, and play an important role in Oatly’s process for bringing innovations to Market.

This person will be critical in setting-up short-term and long-term financial insight and objectives, by leveraging a deep understanding of the current business performance and future operating and strategic model. They will be a key contributor to the implementation of planning and measurement solutions that will help improve our forecasting accuracy, accountability, and transparency. In addition, this position is expected to play a key role in leading cross-functional initiatives to capitalize on areas of growth and profit improvement opportunities and is expected to work collaboratively across the organization.
Here are the things we want to hire you to do:
Participate in company planning, forecasting, and reporting processes for the Product Development & Innovation team
Deliver and manage complete (multi-year) business cases as well as financial insights and risk identification for all products within the Emergent Foods team
Support the decision-making process through scenario-building, and critical review of P&L inputs received from various members of the Emergent Food team (including Commercial, Product Development, Procurement, and Co-manufacturing)
Develop tools and models to drive efficiency in the process
Find opportunities to strengthen innovation profitability or reduce financial risk in Innovations
Build insights about innovation performance and outcomes
Find opportunities to drive greater efficiency and effectiveness of innovation finance activities
Create financial models & provide ad-hoc financial analysis
Cultivate strong cross-functional relationships with business partners (Sales, Marketing, Corporate, and Supply Chain)
Collaborate with the Innovation team on profitability at each stage of SKU introduction both existing SKU extensions and new products
Be able to lead and manage through ambiguity, particularly important as we harmonize policies and practices across the organization
Here are the things we think you need:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, MBA preferable
8-10 years of financial management experience, ideally in the consumer products industry
2+ years working In Innovation finance
Ability to understand complex business drivers, produce high-quality analytics and communicate results effectively
Have a deep understanding of the workings of the CPG industry including but not limited to; multiple channels & retailer landscape, distributors & brokers, trade spend, etc.
Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
Highest standards of accuracy and precision and are highly organized
Strong work ethic and a can-do positive attitude is a must
Seamlessly manage competing priorities in a fast and high-pressured matrixed environment
Solid experience in firms’ business operations and ability to set up systems and processes to ensure firm-wide controls
Proven experience leading process improvement initiatives, developing analytics to drive decision-making, demonstrated ability to complete quantitative and qualitative analysis and build robust financial models
Proven track record of advanced analytical skills; must be able to define and execute key analysis

The salary for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. Compensation may also include bonus, commission, or equity as applicable. For the state of Colorado only, our good faith estimate of the starting pay for this role is $140,000.
