Under minimal supervision, the Registered Nurse provides nursing care for a group of patients assigned to the nurse based on matching the patients’ needs with the nurse’ competencies. Registered Nurse completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education
Required: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
Preferred: Bachelors Degree
Experience
Required: None for Med/Surg and Behavioral Health 1 year in acute/chronic dialysis for Dialysis
Preferred; 2 years in acute care for Med/Surg 2 years in psychiatric facility for Behavioral Health 2 years acute/chronic dialysis for Dialysis
Certifications/Licensure
Possession of current Texas State License for Registered Nurse. For RN in Behavioral Health: Non-Violent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 60 days of hire or transfer into department
Required Courses/Completions (e.g., CPR):
- BLS required for allObtained through approved American Heart Association Training Center or the Military Training Network.
- Behavioral Health-Non-Violet Crisis Intervention obtained within 60 days of hire or transfer to position
