ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
• Protects the organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
• Perform general accounting duties, full process accounts payable (A/P), and related entries (accruals).
• Accuracy and attention to detail are a must.
• Perform other accounting duties and projects as requested.
• Establish tables of accounts and assign entries to proper accounts.
• Prepares payments by accruing expenses; assigning account numbers; requesting disbursements; and reconciling accounts.
• Protects the organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
• Charge expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports and recording entries.
• Pay vendors by monitoring discount opportunities, verifying federal ID numbers, scheduling and preparing checks, resolving purchase orders, contracts, invoices, or payment discrepancies and documentation; ensuring credit is received for outstanding memos, and issuing stop-payments on purchase order amendments.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education And Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• Advanced knowledge of MS Word and Excel
• Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Accounts Payable
• Knowledge of general accounting principles, regulatory standards, and compliance requirements
