Job Title: Director of Camp Accounting, Finance Manager

Hourly Expectations: Operating as an FLSA seasonal enterprise, this is designed as either a Full-Time position, or a very robust 25-28 hr. a week part time position, (flexible) Hours with flexibility but generally occurring between 9-5 M-Fri with a thirty-minute lunch break on site. Adjusted schedules may be coordinated with the Executive Director.
Pre-amble and Primary Task: As a Gospel-oriented ministry, New Life Camp requires that all personnel have a real and meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ and be willing and able to perform their duties with an attitude of Christian humility, and a spirit of grace. New Life Camp exists to love, accept, and introduce children and their families to Jesus Christ and equip them to live lives that glorify God. Therefore, all employees in every department must be invested in that endeavor, and have personalities, backgrounds and temperaments that allow them to flourish in that environment.
This position reports directly to the Executive Director, who will provide an annual performance review if applicable. Direct reports to this position currently: Accounting Assistant and for each of these individuals, it is understood that one of your duties is to provide an annual performance review (if applicable).
Duties
(This position is as much Christian ministry as it is job, and only those who can function in that context should apply)
1) The accurate posting and maintaining of camp financial records
2) Running payroll and other financial obligations of camp in a process that meets all legal and ethical standards
3) Running frequent reports of financial summary for the Executive Director and Board to assist in their fiduciary responsibility.
4) Ensure that contributions and donations are tracked, recorded, and followed up with a system of receipt and gratitude per the Asst. Director of Development
5) Review bank statements, and monitor cash flow on a weekly basis.
6) Prepare for audits and provide all necessary tax documentation for 990
7) Create an invoice system for camps many fee-based programs and follow up on outstanding balances
9) Provide a degree of HR coordination necessitated by the Manager role: particularly in relation to adequate provision of Health Care plans, and the maintenance of HR records such as personnel file docs, leave and vacation forms, retirement, workers compensation etc.
10) Work with the Executive Director to establish a sound budgeting procedure, regular budget reports and constant budget tracking for year over year comparison and reporting purposes.
11) Answer customer queries and respond to numerous requests for information and the refunding, discounting, and enhancing of pricing, which goes along with the operation of camp. Serving as a key ambassador for camp customer relations
11) To be knowledgeable and proficient in the camp registration and donor CRM modules
12) Stay abreast of current pricing models in the camping, day camping, pre-school, clubs, sports, sports camps, afterschool, and Y program areas
13) Manage the scholarship system and camp discount program
14) Attend weekly staff meeting to stay well connected with the overall ministry of camp
15) To attend all necessary trainings and enhancements and stay current on any necessary certifications
16) To assist in the performance of background and credit checks for BOD members, full-time personnel, receptionists, and part-time facility staff.
16) Periodically negotiate vendor contracts
17) Prepare W-2’s, 1099’s, 941’s, sales tax refunds and annual contribution statements
18) Manage and reconcile Petty Cash for Souvenir Shop, Snack Shack, and Sports Programs
19) Develop key program analytics in conjunction with the ED for forecasting and sustained profitability.
20) Backup for Registrar position as needed (illness, vacation)
Qualifications & Essential Skills:
Data management and understanding of Microsoft Suite (Excel)
The ability to utilize QuickBooks desktop/ or compatible financial accounting software
Knowledge of or aptitude for Salesforce or similar CMS
College degree in accounting or business related area required
Non-Profit business experience a plus.
Human Resource acumen is an advantage
Experience with Classy donation software a plus.
Strong organization skills
Salary Commensurate with ultimate schedule, skills and experience
