The Purchasing Specialist I is responsible for providing procurement support to the Procurement team. Option to work remote or a split on-site/remote schedule after completion of the on-site training period. Employee will be expected to attend monthly on-site meetings. Essential Duties/ Responsibilities: Places orders and ensures competitive and consistent pricing of products and services for the organization. Submits bid proposals and Requests for Proposal (RFP) to procure a variety of goods and services and helps to negotiate contracts. Evaluates bid responsiveness, vendor responsibility and vendor performance. Monitors order status to ensure accurate and timely delivery of products, services, and compliance to the terms of the contract. Reconcile and resolve any open Purchase Orders and invoice discrepancies with vendors. Attends vendor meetings to discuss pricing, payment terms, and overall service. Manages vendor relationships and polls sites to obtain feedback of vendor’s performance. Produces a variety of analytical reports showing annual savings by switching vendors or products/services. Responsible for misc. vendor inquiries. Follow and enforce Procurement related policies and procedures. Other Procurement projects/tasks as assigned. Skills: Required to be well organized and possess high initiative. Strong attention to detail and task management skills required. Excellent written and oral communication skills required; Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel and Word required; Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. (As movement of boxes is required). Education: High school diploma/ GED required. Associates Degree preferred. Experience: 2 years of Purchasing or Accounting experience required, preferred experience within the Healthcare industry ideally involving ordering medical or dental supplies for a Healthcare Center. Previous experience with ERP or Procurement software like Coupa required. Neighborhood Healthcare requires employees to be fully vaccinated (including a booster dose) against COVID-1 and demonstrate proof of vaccination/booster upon hire or receive approval for an exemption based on a medical reason, disability or religious belief. Proof of booster dose will be contingent upon booster eligibility.
