National Veterinary Associates has an exciting opportunity to join their talented finance team supporting our General Practice division. We are currently looking to add a Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) to be a key partner to the company executives, General Practice leadership and our Corporate Finance team. In this role, the incumbent will help manage technical aspects of the business unit’s planning, financial modeling and analysis. The individual will report directly to the Director, General Practice Finance.
Key responsibilities include:
Deliver insightful, value-added, cross-company modeling and analysis, to drive improved business performance
Build and maintains business unit budget and forecast modelling
Facilitate and budget for capital planning and ROI analysis on those investments
Provide KPI and performance data on the General Practice business to our Corporate Finance organization, Executives and Board stakeholders
Conduct variance analysis on business unit performance
Build management presentations and commentary to describe performance of General Practice business
Use technical acumen to drive efficiencies and streamline existing processes
Become a systems/technical expert and super user for team
Become a key partner for a company-wide FP&A transformation project bringing new tools and processes to Finance
Partner with Accounting, Business Development, and other Business Unit teams and other functional groups to understand business drivers, variance analysis and business performance.
Assist with all Quarterly and Annual reporting analytics
Responsible for building monthly flash and KPI reporting
Set positive and effective leadership tone; foster NVA culture and values across the organization
Qualifications & Competencies:
Ideal candidate will have experience in both large multi-divisional corporate enterprises as well as nimble middle market growth companies and thinks 3-5 years ahead into the next business cycle
Strong technical and analytical skills as well as a hands-on entrepreneurial mindset. Generates alternative solutions by collaborating with people who are impacted by, or have knowledge of the problem, issue or challenge
Ability to develop, manage, and continuously improve complex multi-disciplinary processes and models with multiple stakeholders.
Ability to translate financial data, trends, etc. into pictures, graphics, and stories to a variety of internal and external constituents
Brings technical, analytical and intellectual rigor with a high attention to detail
Highly analytical, technically proficient, operationally and business savvy
Requirements / Characteristics:
~5 years of progressive financial management experience ideally with ~3 years at the corporate level of a global / multi-division public company
Bachelor’s Degree required
Public company and PE-back company experience preferred
Well versed in GAAP accounting with the ability to translate GAAP accounting results into management reporting tools
Technically strong with extensive knowledge of ERP and Planning systems, tools, Microsoft office suite.
