Job Purpose
Lead Analyst – US Indirect Taxes – This role reports to the Manager, US Indirect Tax Operations and performs various indirect tax compliance tasks and activities and assists Department Leaders in the delivery of indirect tax responsibilities (sales & use, gross receipts, fuel, excise, and employment tax), while working in a hybrid environment. This role supports business transactions and assists Department Leaders in timely delivery of indirect tax compliance and advisory services (including latest developments in indirect tax law and necessary system/process updates), as well as audit defense activities. This role assists with timely providing information to support decisions by key stakeholders such as Business Units, Regulation. and Governmental Bodies. This role seeks out and enables improved ways of working through process improvement and use of new technologies.
Key Accountabilities
Qualifications
Minimum of 6 years’ experience in tax field with a concentration in indirect taxes, specifically sales and use tax.
An open collaborator who enjoys working and contributing to team success, building creativity with team, and inspiring progress.
Strong technical understanding of sales & use taxes, gross receipts tax, fuel, excise, and employment taxes and their applicability to the utility industry, and good working knowledge of the applicable federal, state, and municipal tax laws/regulations.
Thorough experience in tax systems and the use of ERP systems. SAP and OneSource/Sabrix strongly preferred.
Data analytics and problem-solving skills a must. Experience with Alteryx, Power Excel, Power BI preferred.
Knowledge of general accounting concepts.
Experience with tax research software, such as CCH, BNA, LexisNexis, etc.
MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint proficiency.
General negotiation skills and experience in dealing with external and internal audits.
Ability to bring consistency and excellence in tax service delivery.
Project management skills, ability to prioritize projects, strong communication, and sound judgment.
Ability to manage competing priorities through effective planning and execution skills.
Strong ability to work across department and geographic boundaries, and to build cross-functional relationships.

A focus on quality and customer service.
Experience within regulated utility industry is a plus.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (or commensurate experience), Taxation, or related fields
CPA or CMI is preferred

$111,000-$131,000
