The Senior Email Marketing Manager is responsible for developing email marketing strategies, managing the email calendar, and execution of enterprise-wide, data-driven daily emails, as well as weekly and monthly newsletters. The ideal candidate will have thorough knowledge of digital marketing, from managing digital assets within a content management system (CMS), to creating attractive and persuasive HTML and TEXT emails, to leveraging email automation capabilities, and reporting in an email service provider (ESP). It will be the responsibility of the Senior Email Marketing Manager to develop data-driven initiatives and standards in an effort to support our organization’s business objectives. This position will report to the VP of Marketing and Communications and work closely with the Web Operations/Services team, Meetings & Divisions team, Membership team, Policy team, and affiliates of the organization. Most importantly, the ideal candidate will thrive in a team-based and independent environment and project a problem-solving, can-do attitude across the organization.
Responsibilities:
· Manage all aspects of email marketing campaigns and ad-hoc messages end-to-end including planning, targeting, set-up, testing, QA, automation, execution, reporting and optimization.
· Manage Higher Logic enterprise email platform and act as key POC for NDIA with vendor
· Work directly with meeting planners, divisions team, membership team, policy team or NDIA’s affiliates to make sure all email content is accurate and up to date
· Experience using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to edit and resize images for email headers, headshots, and sponsors/advertisers in compliance with brand standards and overall organization tone
· Proficient experience with Excel to organize segmented email lists
· Manage all aspects of email distribution calendar to avoid email saturation to any segment in organizations extensive email database
· Use web and email analytics to inform content and distribution strategy
· Increase open, click-through, and conversion rates with data-driven development and distribution strategies
· Work with internal teams to understand marketing goals and collaboratively create email plans to accomplish them.
· Develop reports using all available analytical tools to support the review and analysis of data on various campaigns.
· Identify and assess new standards, technologies, developments and trends for applicability to organization’s goals and requirements.
· Train, advise and assist staff members who administer, edit or produce content for organization’s marketing campaigns.
· Manage, launch and optimize multiple marketing campaigns simultaneously
· Maintain compliance with CANSPAM and GDPR laws
· Develop long term strategies to improve deliverability and unsubscribe rates
· Aid with the development and running of NDIA’s online community
· Work with VP of Marketing and Communications to develop strategy and tactical approach for automated email campaigns
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree.
Minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience in email marketing or digital marketing role.
Advanced experience with HTML development and troubleshooting
Advanced experience with marketing automation technology
Advanced written communication and copywriting skills
An ability to work quickly and excel under tight deadlines
Project management skills needed to maintain multiple campaigns simultaneously
Excellent time management, communication and organizational skills in order to complete each day’s set of email requests
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field.
Experience writing and planning content for digital marketing.
Experience using/managing content management systems (CMS); NetForum
Experience with Higher Logic’s RealMagnet (Marketing Enterprise)
Experience working with an online community
Experience working within a marketing/digital agency or non-profit/association.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex information in an easy-to-understand manner.
Ability to manage and write email marketing copy
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Experience using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, and Smartsheet
