Client Relations Manager
This position is for a full-time job with full benefits – 10 days PTO (paid time off), medical, dental and vision insurance, and a 401K.
This job has several key components:
Data Entry
One of the most important aspects of IT is documentation. Documenting as much as possible is crucial when your team switches between clients as needed. The documentation can sound technical, but you don’t really need too deep of a technical understanding in order to organize and store the data. The main point is that if someone is unavailable to answer questions about a client they work the most with, other technicians are stuck if the information has not been documented. And documentation is something that is never done. It’s like dishes or laundry that way. There’s always more to be done, but as long as you’re taking care of it at a steady pace, there’s no reason to get overwhelmed.
Project Organization/Management
The Client Relations Manager works closely with our CEO, Brian Murphy, to brainstorm, organize, and execute administrative projects. These are the projects that have the potential to generate business, streamline processes, or make the business the best it can possibly be. When developing these projects, Brian counts on the client relations manager to take responsibility while keeping him in the loop on progress.
Light Customer Service
Do not fear– there are no cold calls to be had, no retail nightmares that need to be relived. Instead, what this means is that you do have contact with customers, but largely letting them know about software renewals, asking questions for documentation, or helping them open a ticket/solve a level 1 problem. No one expects you to try and defuse an angry customer, no one expects you to fix a computer by yourself. This position is more about keeping the lines of communication open and encouraging the customer to help us help them.
Networking
We are a huge believer in Business Network International (BNI), a networking group with chapters all over the world. Brian has been in BNI for years and almost all of Murph Consulting’s clients have been the result of referrals through his network. Since the client relations manager is a bit more front-facing, he has invested in an additional BNI seat for them. This part of the role requires social and emotional intelligence as well as the ability to make connections between people.
In conclusion, this job is about being a team player. Everyone needs a little help and the client relations manager is poised to lend that helping hand.
Expectations:
Attitude with clients is crucial to us. It is what sets us apart from the other IT companies out there. At Murph Consulting, we listen to our clients, are trustworthy, honest, and fair. Our motto is “Help Desk with a Heart”.
