Salary: $90,251 – $147,284/year – Final salary based on experience.
Job Summary:
Manage the financial operations of MU Health Controller’s Office for MU Health Care and Affiliates. Assist Executive Director of Finance and Controller, and/or the Director of Financial Operations, in the coordination of processing, reporting, analyzing and forecasting financial and statistical information of MU Health Care.
Job Duties:
Develop and implement MU Health and Affiliates organization-wide, individual departmental policies and procedures in accordance with MU Health Care and University policies and procedures.
Develop, delegate and monitor departmental goals, objectives and programs, including synchronizing the activities of the Controller’s Office towards accomplishment of organizational objectives and strategic plans.
Prepare complex independent analytical studies and projects and advise management regarding finances, reports, and other business activities of MU Health and its Affiliate entities.
Manage and calculate physician compensation plans, including but not limited to, incentives plans of the Affiliates.
Prepare and manage annual department budget, and organization-wide operational budgets, as well as the budget process for Affiliates with monthly comparison to actual and historical results.
Responsible for various monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports of MU Health and Affiliates and provide financial data analysis and policy interpretation assistance to administrators and managers of MU health.
Ensure financial transactions and reports are prepared in compliance with University, State and Federal regulations and in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and/or GAAS, as applicable for MU Health and Affiliates.
Provide management review on acquisition, sale, joint venture or affiliations and continued management of relationships.
Prepare tax reporting and coordinate tax compliance for Affiliate entities.
Represent and participate in appropriate MU Health and University committee activities.
Review and redesign as needed, existing systems to ensure managerial and fiscal control of MU Health.
Interview, select, train, motivate, coach, engage, evaluate and counsel all staff in the Controller’s Office.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related area is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance is preferred.
Experience in health care finance is strongly preferred.
Certification as Certified Public Accountant or Health Care Financial Management professional is strongly preferred, with both knowledge of FASB and GASB accounting standards.
