We’re looking for a dynamic Accountant with strong analytical abilities to join our team. Reporting to the General Ledger Accounting Supervisor, you will participate in the month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing and reporting for one or more MSA companies in Northern North America. This position will be responsible for reporting P&Ls, analyzing data and performing other financial reporting related to these companies. The successful candidate will also be responsible for all intercompany accounting between these companies and other MSA Affiliates. Responsibilities will also include completing account reconciliations, journal entries, data analysis and audit support for the NNA companies. This position will have an emphasis on streamlining and improving existing processes and practices to not only improve the efficiency of the position but the overall effectiveness of the Shared Services team. Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Creates various financial statements and reports.
- Participates in the month-end closing process through journal entry creation and input, account reconciliation preparation and data analysis.
- Learns and understands SAP COPA, primarily how sales and cost of sales are generated and reported.
- Partners with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with MSA’s financial policies and controls.
- Performs data analysis, trending and reporting for the Northern North America region and its companies on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Assists with the planning, implementation and completion of various financial projects that can be localized or global in scope.
- Delivers oral presentations to varied audiences and effectively communicates financial concepts to non-financial audiences.
Qualifications:
Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot tables and complex formula building)
- Highly organized and proven ability to meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task
- Solid communication skills
- Estimated 5% domestic travel
Preferred:
- An understanding of accounting for a manufacturing company
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Economics or relevant field.
- 2 years of relevant experience
- Experience with month-end closing process
- Experience working and communicating with Executive Leadership/Departmental Leadership
- Experience with account reconciliation preparation
Preferred:
- CPA
- SAP ECC (FICO) experience
- Oracle FCCS experience
- Oracle ARCS experience
- Experience creating PowerPoint presentations
