*Sr. Accounting Assistant- *_*Hybrid remote, 3 days in office, 2 days
remote, St Louis, MO*_
*Summary: *Under the supervision of
the Accounting Manager, the Senior Accounting Assistant will perform
accounting and clerical duties in accordance with standard procedures
in general accounting. The position is responsible for associated
month-end closing duties and reporting for a client population based
on client deadlines and will also perform accounts receivable and
calculate accruals.
_*__*Candidates with outstanding,
intermediate/advanced Excel skills and Accounts Receivable/Accounts
Payable experience in a medical or health insurance setting will be
considered for this role.*_
*Essential Functions:*
*Accounts Receivable*
· Post all Medicare, Medicaid, and
Private A/R adjustments based on adjustment request form received
· Prepare monthly journal entries related to revenue, cash,
and accounts receivable
*Reporting*
· Prepare
monthly client report of expenses by specialty type
·
Generate reinsurance reporting required by client
· Assist
in preparation of other reports and analysis provided to clients or
management
*Month-End Close*
· Review reports
available for accurate GL coding
· Prepare monthly journal
entries for clients based on reports
· Calculate IBNR for
clients based on utilization data
· Report consistently
inaccurate coding to the Accounting Manager
· Participate
in client’s financial audit calls as needed

*Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:*

Education/Experience – Educational requirements include a High School
Diploma. Associate Degree in Accounting is helpful
· Two
years of accounting-related experience is required, and prior
healthcare accounting experience is preferred.
· A/R & A/P
experience in a medical environment is strongly preferred.
· Intermediate, current skills in Excel are required to effectively
perform this role. Recent experience using pivot tables and formulas
is required; candidates may be asked to demonstrate Excel skills
during the interview process.
