This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to join Microsoft’s Corporate Finance and Services Team to support a $10B+ global online Advertising business. We provide solutions for the world’s top marketers, agencies, content partners and brands. Key focus will be on ensuring accurate revenue recognition for non-standard agreements, for performing various other controllership functions, and for ongoing business launch support and finance process improvement.
Responsibilities
Non-standard contract review and execution, including proper revenue recognition, monthly financial settlement, partner engagement and data integrity
Perform accounting for DevCenter and for various strategic partners
Ownership of compliance with SOX controls and other significant processes
Establish effective partnering relationships with Sales, Finance, Engineering, Legal, Operations and Collections
Develop new accounting processes for business changes, including system modifications
Establish effective analytics and metrics to assess performance and identify anomalies
Ongoing process simplification and automation
Flexibility and agility to assist in other areas within Advertising Accounting as needed, including building finance process to support new business launches
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting/Finance, or related field AND 2+ years accounting or finance experience
OR Master’s Degree in Business, Accounting/Finance, or related field AND 1+ year(s) accounting or finance experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Proven technical accounting and critical-thinking skills
Demonstrated collaboration skills across multi-disciplinary teams, and ability to establish trust and communicate effectively
Project management and prioritization
Strong data analysis and metrics to drive better predictability
Strong proficiency in MS Excel and Word
