PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Director Finance Operations is responsible in the development, implementation, and control of the department’s strategic goals and objectives. The position oversees the departmental and functional procedures, internal controls, and reporting g to ensure conformity to company procedures, corporate policies, and state and federal regulations and statutes while directing specific areas within the overall department operation. The Director Finance Operations will oversee the day‐to‐day gaming and non‐gaming operational finance areas of the property in partnership with the Finance Shared Services Center, Corporate CoEs, and Gaming Regulators. The Director Finance Operations will partner and maintain effective relationships with regulatory agencies and all operators by building credibility, and owning and resolving questions, requests, etc. The Director Finance Operations is expected to identify process improvement opportunities and partner with operators and Centers of Excellence (CoEs) to implement t solutions.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee that the assigned operational functions within the departments are consistent with the strategic plan and vision for the department, division, and property.
• Manage Human Resources responsibilities to include: creating a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect and employee satisfaction; quality hiring, training, and succession planning processes that encompass the company’s diversity commitment; compliance with company and department policies, and legal requirements.
• Develop and oversee execution of property‐specific programs, policies, and procedures as they relate to gaming/casino finance, accounting, audit, and state and county regulatory programs.
• Stay abreast of changes and trends in the regulatory environment and make changes/updates to existing programs/policies/procedures, as needed. Identify process improvement opportunities and partner with operators and Centers of Excellence (COEs) to implement solutions.
• Partner and maintain effective relationships with the Finance Shared Service Center, COEs, regulatory agencies, and all operators by building credibility and owning and resolving questions, requests, issues, etc. to make informed decisions that enhance financial and operational performance.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or equivalent work experience.
• Four (4) years of financial accounting/general ledger/Gaming industry experience.

PREFERRED:

• CPA and MBA preferred.
• At least three (3) years of previous management/supervisory experience.
• Experience with MGM Resorts International financial systems (Infinium, AS400, Showcase Strategy, Cognos Finance, Cognos BI, Gaming system, Players Club).
• Previous experience working in a similar resort setting

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

• Gaming license for the specific jurisdiction

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Demonstrated leadership skills. Able to move people of all levels to action while managing day‐to‐day operations.
• Ability and desire to build and lead an effective, high performance team.
• Proven ability to successfully manage personnel including successful conflict resolution, succession planning and retention planning.
• Experience in working with all levels of management, including executives and consulting with key business stakeholders.
• Highly developed organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to meet established deadlines.
• Ability to work in a fast‐paced environment managing multiple tasks, projects and personnel simultaneously. Ability to prioritize conflicting duties and maintain timeline integrity for projects and tasks.
• Ability to lead a change management initiative while coordinating and guiding resources.
• Knowledge of and experience with applying and overseeing operations that have regulatory requirements (Gaming, Federal, State, Licensing, etc.).
• Advanced knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), accounting practices and theories.
• Ability to prepare and fully analyze financial statements and related reports, and make recommendations and decisions based on financial data.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts.
• Ability to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
