Manages, Creates, & Sets the medical and minor equipment capital/operational budget list for major and minor integrated construction projects and routine capital expenditures. Determines with input from stakeholders of a project the reuse of existing medical equipment as part of construction projects taking into account the life cycle, complexities and cost of moving existing equipment. Management of co-dependent healthcare technologies for successful implementations and integration and the ability to interact comfortably and successfully with individuals (both clinical & non-clinical) at all levels within the healthcare organizations(both internal & external). Additional responsibilities to include developing annual capital budget, maintaining capital purchases, unbudgeted requests, and manage capital projects. Education/Experience/Licensure

REQUIRED: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Engineering, or related field. N/A N/A

SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED: High school degree or GED equivalent and nine (9) years of MLHexperience Clinical Engineering in lieu of education requirements. Must have at least five (5) years of related experience. N/A
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Knowledgeable of the capital acquisition process including evaluating, negotiating, and the logistics of complex medical equipment purchasing utilizing ECRI benchmarking, GPO pricing, and historical/previous purchase history to obtain the most favorable pricing available.
Must have experience in managing multiple projects of varying deadlines and complexity at the same time.
Knowledge of healthcare equipment planning.
Knowledge of healthcare financial principles such as group purchasing, bulk buys, capital equipment purchasing, and depreciation.
Will have an in-depth understanding of Sharepoint and SAP.
Ability to understand and prepare complex written materials, such as business plans.
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of Associates and leaders
Key Job Responsibilities
Negotiates and purchase all Medical and Capital equipment to maximize a hospitals or the MLH systems capital dollars and value. Arranges budget creations and tracking.
Prepares the budget list for all construction projects & routine capital expenditures.
Manages the process of the departmental Capital Budget request.
Manages the Capital Purchasing Maintenance of a particular hospital.
Reconciles & communicate the capital budget status to administration/affected teams.
Obtain approvals, manage deliveries, installation plans & communicate 1 time operational cost associated with Capital purchases.
Manages unbudgeted Capital request by re-prioritizing existing capital and locating resources for unbudgeted requests.
