POSITION OVERVIEW :
The Commercial Finance Manager will be responsible for providing financial oversight and support of key activities for the Spices & Extracts Product Category for our US Consumer Business. The successful candidate will be an active business partner with the Spices & Extracts team and various other cross functional teams working toward common goals to drive growth and profitability. This position will be responsible for managing processes and developing analysis that will provide the foundation for significant business decisions.
KEY RESPONSIBILTIES:
Manage and oversee all aspects of the financial and profitability analysis for Commercial Business Partners in the Spices & Extracts Product Category. Partner with commercial team to formulate pricing strategy, inclusive of overseeing all pricing analysis and procedures. Partner with commercial team to formulate portfolio strategy, including development of NPD, margin analysis and CCI.
Provide business partnership and financial leadership on short-term business projects and long-term strategic objectives.
Lead business planning projects with cross functional business partners and provide actionable insights to assist in key decision making including the strategic and annual plan, budget, and quarterly forecasts
Utilize systems to improve analytics and processes to drive data-based insights.
Consistently apply McCormick growth behaviors in support of our critical business partners and maintain a continuous improvement mindset identifying and executing change opportunities to continually drive value creation.
Maintain appropriate internal control environment.
Development of staff through active coaching and mentorship.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree
A minimum of 8 years of experience in Accounting, Financial, or equivalent business function analysis
A minimum of 2 years of project management experience supporting finance initiatives with the business functions
Advanced working knowledge of MS Excel and basic proficiency of Power Point & Word required. TM1 and SAP/BW experience is desirable
Excellent analytical, communication and organization skills
Excellent theoretical and practical knowledge of different financial and analytical techniques and the capability to plan own work and respect deadlines
Demonstrated complex financial analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
Proven team player
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business
MBA and/or CPA
A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience
