Position description
This leadership position supports the Mankato Hospital Patient Access Department. This role supervises and directs professional and support staff for the Revenue Cycle ensuring effective use of employees, equipment & materials within budget & quality standards. Responsible for full spectrum of human resources and operational functions and workflows, including but not limited to performance management, attendance management, training, and quality. Identifies trends, performs tactical planning and carries out strategic plans. Ensures staff has the resources to carry out their responsibilities. Optimizes staff productivity and service; resolves work place problems of team and processes; develops policies, procedures and guidelines. Possesses the technical knowledge of the function being supervised. Implements retention and recruitment planning initiatives. Participates in the overall management of Revenue Cycle teams through involvement in Enterprise-wide projects, work groups, task forces, councils, and committees. Serves as liaison between area of responsibility and other constituents inside and outside of Mayo. Acts as the subject matter expert for assigned areas of supervision, members of the management team, and different sections within the Revenue Cycle and multiple areas outside of the Revenue Cycle. Maintains expert knowledge of workflows within the scope of responsibility and optimizes the use of available technology. May require occasional travel.
Qualifications
High School diploma and 5 years of relevant management experience
OR
Bachelor’s degree and 1 year of relevant financial experience
OR
Master’s degree required.
Additional qualifications
Possesses PC skills, both keyboarding and applications. Knowledge of and experience with Finance systems and applications preferred.

This leadership role supports a team within a 24×7 department. Typical office hours will be Monday through Friday 8am-5pm. However, there could be the occasional night or weekend support.
