Sr. Financial Analyst

Summary
The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for developing and reporting on departmental budgets in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring adherence to department policies and procedures. This requires review of departmental budgets with management, which includes forecasting of income statements, consolidation of income statements, preparation/analysis of quarterly and ad hoc reports and other business metrics from all company-owned subsidiaries and leading Corporate finance projects, which may include the implementation, training of team, and support of various finance software and related technical project support.
Essential Job Functions:
· Review departmental budgets with management (e.g., forecasting of income statements, consolidation of income statements and other business metrics from all company-owned subsidiaries, etc.)
· As directed by management, assist in establishing budget goals with department leaders, ensuring budget deadlines are met and communicating any issues outside of employees control to management
· Know and support approved accounting and departmental policies and procedures including keeping up-to-date on internal controls concerning financial planning functions
· Conduct research and compile data for report preparation showing the financial activity of assigned areas of responsibility, analyze data and report findings to supervisor resolving any discrepancies with data as necessary
· Prepare and review monthly and quarterly financial reports as requested by management
· Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analysis as requested, ensuring all reports are completed accurately and according to designated timelines
· Operate and execute procedures and processes, within area of responsibility, in accordance with the established company policies and internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR)
· Participate in the activities associated with a variety of departmental projects ensuring established timelines are met
· Proactively oversee the activities involved in quality resolution of problems related to area of responsibility
· Respond with a sense of urgency to problems escalated to employee’s level
· Escalate to supervisor any situation outside the employee’s control that could adversely impact the services being provided
· Ensure quality resolution and thorough and accurate documentation of customer issues
· Participate in and provide analysis and feedback to management staff and appropriate departments regarding recurring problems, recommending improvements aimed at reducing future occurrences of problems
· Establish and maintain a professional relationship with team members and department contacts to ensure to team/individual goals are met and tasks are completed in a timely manner
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Demonstrated experience with databases (e.g., Access, etc.) preferred
· Must be able to build customer relationships, be detail oriented and can adapt quickly to changes in the workplace
· Requires financial acumen and problem-solving abilities
· Professionalism and strong verbal and written communications skills
· Must have ability to work independently and function in a team-oriented environment
· Proven ability to lead team projects both within Finance and cross functionally
· Strong work ethic and interpersonal skills with ability to work in a team environment in which open/honest communication is expected
· Strong analytical skills, problem solving and communication skills (verbal and written) with an emphasis on customer service
· Strong organizational, multi-tasking skills and the ability to follow through on tasks
· Ability to communicate to a diverse audience in non-financial terms

Job Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required with major course work in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field required. Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements
· Minimum 2 years accounting or finance experience required
· Minimum 1 year experience in a public accounting environment preferred
· Relevant 2 years accounting experience with emphasis on financial analysis
· In office workdays required; there will be day(s) designated for working remotely based on schedule assigned
