Essential Functions Statement(s)
§ Plans, operates, and directs the community in accordance with the policies and procedures of Mansfield Memorial Homes and in compliance with federal, state, and applicable local statutes, regulations, and/or ordinances
§ Develops an effective management team, an efficient organizational structure, and an efficient operation program and procedure to effectively carry out quality skilled nursing and assisted living programs.
§ Oversees continued development and implementation of the community strategic plan.
§ Maintains an ongoing relationship with the Medical Director, the medical staff, nursing staff, and other professional and supervisory staff through meetings and periodic reports.
§ Oversees the care provided through daily rounds, observations, and interactions with staff and residents.
§ Studies and acts upon recommendations made by committees within the community as well as those of MMH’s board of directors.
§ Appoints in writing and in concurrence with direct supervisor a responsible employee to act in the Administrator’s behalf during temporary absences.
§ Develops and implements written plan to assure the continuity of resident care and services in the event of a disaster or interruption of service.
§ Oversees and directs all licensing and survey activities on behalf of the community and ensures that the community is in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local statutes, regulations, and ordinances.
§ Consults with and advises the appropriate leadership team members concerning issues relating to the operations of the facility.
§ Develops and recommends changes in administrative policies to carry out the objectives of the community more effectively.
§ In cooperation with appropriate staff, seeks and obtains reimbursement for all eligible services provided by the community to residents and others. Assures availability and appropriate use of residents’ current financial information.
§ Assists the CEO in developing operating budget and is responsible for keeping operations within the budget.
§ Leads the quality improvement efforts and creates and implements goals to improve quality measures and star ratings.
§ In change of all financial aspects of the facilities working with accounting, payroll, and accounts receivable.
§ Makes all efforts to ensure the corporate compliance program is followed.
§ Participates in special projects and accepts special assignments as requested by the CEO.
§ Promotes good public relations and attends professional and civic meeting representing the organization. Active member of the marketing committee.
§ Maintains membership in appropriate professional organizations (local, state, and national) to assure contact with educational opportunities, current developments, and new trends in geriatric care.
§ Represents Mansfield Memorial Homes through associations and provides leadership in these associations as requested and as time allows.
§ Participates in facility sponsored events and activities to build relationships with the community.
§ Continues education in formal and informal ways to stay well informed and knowledgeable concerning skilled nursing management, and regulatory requirements.
§ Performs task which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or redesigned depending upon individual circumstances.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in health care administration or a related field.
Experience: Three to five years experience as an administrator or management experience in a long-term care facility/health care setting. Experience in public relations/ marketing is preferred.
Computer Skills: Must be able to proficiently use a computer, the Internet and basic office equipment
Certifications & Current licensure is required. Must obtain and maintain mandatory, state and federal
Licenses: requirements and certifications for practice or occupation.
Other Requirements: Experience in strategic and/or long-range planning, basic budget preparation and the ability to interpret financial statements; strong organizational skills; supervisory, team building, or team development skills; capable of excellent communication both verbally and in writing; ability to maintain effective working relationships with varied and diverse individuals, including residents, families, staff, and the community.
