Reporting to the country head / origination head, you will lead the Green Investment Group’s policy and regulatory affairs for offshore wind activities, working together with the other team members, advisers and partners. You will create a comprehensive stakeholder overview and build and maintain a network of key offshore wind stakeholders both at federal and states levels.
An integral part of your role will be to monitor and influence the relevant policymakers and regulators on policy, regulatory and market design. In addition, you will play a key role in setting up the strategy to secure seabed leases and its implementation, and the development plan including route-to-market, access to grid and permitting.
Your key responsibilities:
You will be responsible for monitoring, assessing and proactively influencing policy and regulatory developments of the US offshore wind sector. You will develop a policy and regulatory advocacy strategy to promote a successful outcome for the Green Investment Group’s offshore wind activities.
Your responsibilities will include:
Being the focal policy and regulatory point of reference for the Green Investment Group’s offshore wind activities in the United States;
Analysis and understanding of trends and developments within policy, regulatory affairs and stakeholder aspects, determining and implementing effective advocacy plans;
Support business development and origination efforts, as well as project development activities on regulatory affairs matters;
Engage with industry stakeholders, analysing and promoting opportunities for joint industry efforts to favour the development of the offshore wind industry in alignment with the Green Investment Group’s ambitions and plans; and
Provide input into the Green Investment Group’s strategy to secure seabed leases, routes to market, grid entry points and consents/licenses for offshore wind projects.
To be successful, you will have:
Extensive and proven track record on regulatory affairs from the renewables sector including offshore wind;
Strong external network at federal and various states level, bringing experience and insights into the offshore wind policy development and deployment plans;
Experience in public administrations and/or having an extensive network of contacts within US federal government and other relevant regulators at state level for those markets with offshore wind potential;
Constant up to date knowledge of and involvement in regulatory affairs that impacts offshore wind, with capacity to advocate for the Green Investment Group’s preferred positions and influence the required outcomes;
Self-driven individual, with proven ability to work effectively in small teams in a fast-paced and evolving environment;
Ability to cover a wide scope of activities and priorities, with a strategic mindset and a goal-oriented approach;
Proven ability to establish strong relationships internally and externally and to collaborate within an integrated, multifunctional, commercially oriented team; and
Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills, both verbally and in writing, being able to effectively represent the Green Investment Group towards senior external stakeholders.
