As an Associate, Portfolio Management, you will actively manage and report throughout the investment life cycle on Macquarie Capital’s growing portfolio of principal investments in renewable energy, conventional energy, and infrastructure across the Americas. You will be based in New York or Houston and report directly to the Regional Portfolio Management Lead for the Infrastructure and Energy Capital group.
You will be responsible for:
Developing detailed working knowledge of all assets on Infrastructure and Energy Capital Balance Sheet
Building relationships and maintain ongoing dialogue with management teams at Infrastructure and Energy Capital’s principal assets as their first point of contact at Macquarie
Organizing and leading Quarterly Portfolio Review process, including the curation/aggregation of reporting materials and developing/driving the meeting agenda
Interacting directly with deal teams to analyze, monitor, and report on the transaction pipeline for purpose of forecasting revenue and funding requirements
Attending Principal Investment Committee meetings and communicate decisions/recommendations to broader stakeholder groups
Liaising with central teams and other stakeholders as necessary to provide monthly portfolio and pipeline updates
Assisting with the input, review and content gathering for marketing and communication materials
Responding to ad-hoc requests as required from the Global COO, Regional and Global Business Heads, and Regional Portfolio Management Lead
Supporting the delivery of improvement initiatives across Infrastructure and Energy Capital
Supporting Infrastructure and Energy Capital’s investment strategy
Supporting development and implementation of asset management plans
Supporting active monitoring and oversight of principal equity portfolio
To be successful in this role, you will have:
~5 or more years’ experience, preferably in asset/portfolio management, management consulting and/or the infrastructure and energy industry
Fluency in Spanish
Strong analytical skills and achievement drive to deliver tasks quickly and to a high-quality standard
A desire to understand/learn the key drivers of IEC’s business activities
A strong and collaborative professional relationship with deal teams, asset managers, and a wide variety of regional and global stakeholders as a highly visible representative of IEC’s Americas business
A track record managing internal/external client and senior stakeholder relationships
Important personal qualities including:
Proactive, can-do attitude, and collaborative team-working style
Strong focus on helping to optimize commercial outcomes
Comfortable interacting with a diverse array of stakeholders across the globe
High attention to detail and proven organizational skills
A focus on delivery and output in a timely manner
Strong working knowledge of MS Office suite
