Job Overview:
This role will be a part of LPL Finance Division, which provides LPL’s advisors capital to support acquisitions and growth initiatives.
The Capital Solutions, VP will support and lead our lending operations and credit risk teams. The ideal candidate for this role has a combination of strong underwriting and credit risk background, technical and analytical skills, communication skills, and strategic thinking.
Responsibilities:
Underwriting Operations
Help plan, develop, and execute LPL’s repayable capital strategy
Manage team of underwriters to originate and evaluate loan applications
Handle escalations and collaborate on solutions to balance opportunity and risk
Producing metrics to illustrate the value of our capital deployment to our advisors
Innovate, test, and launch new products to partner with new business unit initiatives
Creating reporting and analysis to drive business decisions and process improvements
Train and develop team of analysts to support high quality underwriting and operations
Represent and advocate for Capital Solutions when working with business partners
Credit Risk Management
Manage ~$1B loan portfolio based on standard credit risk principles and governance requirements
Build portfolio credit models and dashboards to measure KRI’s and monitor performance
Manage team of analysts in charge of supporting the credit risk program
Providing recommendations based on analysis to adjust guidelines or improve risk assessments
Leverage data analytics and reporting to determine actionable business intelligence
Manage quality assurance program, to ensure underwriters maintain high quality standards
Provide scenario and sensitivity analysis of loan portfolio in different market environments
Present analysis, reports, and recommendations to executive management
Manage Projects
Work with technology to digitize and improve processes and user experiences
Help manage strategic projects to improve and expand our lending capabilities
Assist on projects to automate processes and improve operations
Work closely with internal LPL departments on different projects and initiatives

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related-field
7-10 years of experience in small business lending, underwriting, and credit risk
Background managing large teams to execute daily operations and process improvements
Experience with overseeing credit risk functions, building credit models, and managing loan portfolios
Ability to perform in a fast paced, high volume, dynamic environment with minimal oversight
Experience analyzing, interpreting, and presenting financial data
Preferences:
Strong knowledge of corporate finance and business concepts
Background managing operational and tech projects; as PM, business owner, or SME
Experience with reporting/analytics tools: Tableau, Alteryx, SQL, R, Salesforce, Excel Macros a plus
Demonstrated knowledge of LPL platform, products and services a plus
