Position Overview: We are seeking a seasoned AR & AP manager to join our accounting department and oversee the entire AR & AP functions. This role involves the management of multiple employees on both the AR & AP sides and requires a level of hands-on activity as needed. The role will also interface with various operational employees across all divisions and requires the ability to facilitate successful communication between field personnel and the accounting office. This role will report to the Assistant Controller.
Job Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage the work of the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams (currently 8 direct reports)
Work with AR team to:
Manage customer setup and terms according to MSA’s
Oversee and review all customer billing according to customer needs (including specific customer portals)
Oversee the posting, depositing and application of customer payments
Manage & review A/R Aging reports weekly and conduct A/R meetings
Review and manage customer remit information
Work with AP team to:
Determine appropriate and accurate coding of AP invoices
Ensure vendor invoices are paid according to terms
Make collection decisions and engage with collection agencies
Process and make decisions regarding account write-offs
Release retention
Ensure AR and AP closes according to month end deadline
Manage & review AP Aging reports weekly
Review and process weekly AP check runs
Initiate vendor calls/emails when necessary
Process and manage refunds
Complete and manage reversals
Complete final approval within ERP system for AP & charge transactions
Other duties as assigned
Skills/Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years’ management experience in accounting
Accounting or Business degree or applicable work experience required
Excellent Computer Skills – Excel Proficiency
Attention to details and deadline oriented
Ability to managing a diverse work group and be a team player
Exceptional time management and communication skills
ERP system competency
Understanding of basic GAAP accounting (accruals, etc.)
Confidentiality is a must
Multi-tasking capabilities
Expected Hours:
40-50 Hours per week
