POSITION: Corporate Director of Finance & Accounting

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Corporate Director of Finance and Accounting is highly-analytical and supports the VP of Finance with the oversight of the company’s financial planning and accounting operations. In this position, you will not only be an accomplished accountant and proactive with company finances but will also be commercially aware and provide advice on the best path of growth for our business. Your responsibilities will include oversight of the accounting team and their career development along with a successful month end close. Additional responsibilities include establishing targets, developing budgets, and performing financial analysis. Your ultimate goal will be to develop and grow the accounting team talent and standard operating procedures moving the department to a best in class accounting and finance division.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support VP of Finance with the financial strategic planning of the company by evaluating its performance and potential risks.
Works with accounting staff to review financial statements for hotel portfolio.
Perform regular financial analysis.
Develop budgets that meet the requirements of company departments.
Establish targets and manage all accounting and finance employees including management accountants, controllers, clerks and internal auditors.
Ensures all hotels’ compliance with financial standard operating procedures, legal requirements, and contractual obligations through effective internal controls and auditing.
Involvement in the supervision of tax audits, and assist with coordinating the responses to governmental reporting requests.
Management of sales, occupancy, and property taxes.
Supervise all audit and internal control processes.
Work with transitional teams for the onboarding and offboarding of properties.
Prepare detailed reports on the company’s financial performance.
Guarantee compliance with financial laws and guidelines.
Recognize patterns in company and individual hotel spending, revenue, and recommend solutions to any problem areas.
Provide guidance on expense management, productivity, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and capital planning
Assist Staff Accountants and Controllers with Daily & Monthly Tasks as needed
Coordinate with external financial entities on behalf of the company.
Preparing accounting and other required reports and projections based on the analysis performed.
Evaluating capital expenditures and asset depreciation.
Establishing and evaluating records, statements, and profit plans.
Identifying financial performance trends and financial risk, and making recommendations.
Providing recommendations for improvement based on trends.
Coordinating with other members of the finance team, such as a risk analyst when required to review financial information and forecasts.
Providing financial models.
Making financial forecasts.
Analyzing inventory.
Support VP of Finance with Business Development market review and creation of pro forma’s
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or relevant field.
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial management.
A minimum of 5-10 years experience in the hospitality industry.
In-depth knowledge of accounting software, financial forecasting and diagnosis, corporate principals, and financial analysis.
Excellent communication, presentation, reporting and interpersonal abilities and skills.
An analytical mind with good organizational skills.
Outstanding leadership skills.
Previous experience supervising an accounting team.
Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Proficient in M3 and ProfitSword
Position based out of corporate offices in PROVO, UT (not a remote position)
Accounting Brand experience with Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt and IHG.
