Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking a Sr. Manager of General Ledger & Financial Reporting in the L3Harris Integrated Mission Systems Segment Accounting Services Center. With centralized processing in Rockwall, Texas, this organization supports multiple business units across the United States by providing accounting, reporting and accounting systems services. Essential Duties
Lead a team of professional accountants who provide general accounting and financial reporting services
Liaise with business unit accounting leadership and support personnel
Ensure controls are designed and operating effectively to address risk and maintain compliance with accounting policies
Coordinate work during monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles to ensure deadlines are achieved
Manages monthly close activities including journal entry and account reconciliation review, quarterly and annual schedules, and financial analytics
Proactively identify and implement process improvements
Assist with prioritization of work and/or re-distribution when competing deadlines arise
Create and/or updates process documentation including Sarbanes Oxley narrative documents
Support internal, external and DCAA audits
Prepare ad-hoc reporting and assist with special projects to include financial system support, as requested.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or other related degree and twelve (12) years of related experience. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance, which requires US citizenship
3+years of direct functional leadership experience
Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley requirements
Experience in the monthly, quarterly, and annual close in a fast-paced close process with multiple, often competing, deadlines
Experience in a complex ERP environment
Experience with facilitating internal and external audits
Ability to work extended hours
Objective thinker, problem solver with ability to execute challenging tasks to completion
Exceptional organizational skills enabling monitoring of key due dates and activities
Preferred Skills:
CPA Certification preferred
Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations and Cost Accounting Standards a plus
Experience in a Shared Service general accounting environment a plus
Experienced team builder
Flexible planner in terms of daily activities with ability to adeptly react to changing requirements and priorities
Ability to develop broad, cooperative relationships with numerous groups and individuals
