Lerch Bates Looking for Sr. Accounts Payable Specialist at Englewood, Colorado Full Time

Title: Sr. Accounts Payable Specialist

Job Summary:

Position is responsible for processing vendor invoices and expense vouchers for payment and for performing any follow-up work associated with these functions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Reviews all invoices/expense reports for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
• Responsible for the accuracy, efficiency and timeliness of entering invoices, processing payments, tracking vendor payment history, and handling billing disputes.
• Coding invoices to the proper general ledger account.
• Enter invoices into ERP system.
• Prints and obtains signatures on all accounts payable checks. Distributes signed checks as required.
• Maintains records, documentation, and vendor files in accordance with company policy and tax requirements.
• Performs and assists in monthly closing process.
• Maintains and updates vendor information.
• Responsible for the maintenance and preparation of 1099 forms.
• Audit vendors for legitimacy and proper setup.
• Ensures alignment and consistency within Accounts Payable across the organization.
• Responsible for preliminary account analysis to ensure GL accuracy.

Required Education, Experience and Skills:

• 10+ years of accounts payable experience.
• Associates or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, or similar, with emphasis in Accounting
• Experience working in professional services/consulting environment
• ERP (Deltek Vision) experience
• Knowledge of basic principles and practices of accounting.
• Requires good analytical and organization skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Follow company procedures and policies.
• Knowledge of multi-entity/multi-currency environment
• Maintain a file system to include alphabetical, numerical, and chronological filing activities.
• Strong computer skills with working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
