We’re looking for a Senior
Accountant responsible for supporting the Accounting Department by
applying principles of accounting to analyze financial information,
prepare journal entries, account reconciliations and financial
reports. This role analyzes financial reports and complex accruals to
ensure completeness and accuracy, identifying issues or inefficiencies
and recommending solutions. This position reports to the Accounting
Manager.
Our corporate headquarters is located in Chicago,
IL. This role operates on a hybrid work model; employees spend two
days working in the office and three days working remotely. We offer

*Responsibilities:*
*
Contributes to timely and accurate month-end close.
* Prepares
journal entries for the month-end close in accordance with GAAP and
internal policies.
* Prepares account reconciliations and
presents/explains reconciliations to senior management.
*
Prepares and reviews analyses of various account balances.
*
Prepares schedules for Financial and Sarbanes Oxley audits.
*
Assists in the timely completion of quarterly and year-end audits,
interacting directly with internal and external auditors.
*
Analyzes complex issues and accounts to answer accounting and
financial questions by researching and interpreting data, and
developing spreadsheets.
* Evaluates and recommends improvements
to accounting procedures and systems.
* Performs ad hoc analyses
as requested.
* Assists with other duties and projects as
directed by management. Other duties, responsibilities, and
qualifications may be required and/or assigned as necessary.
*Qualifications & Requirements:*
* Bachelor’s degree in
accounting with at least 5 years of public/corporate accounting and
financial analysis experience, or an equivalent combination of
education and experience.
* CPA, or the desire to pursue CPA, is
required.
* Strong Microsoft Office skills – Excel and Word
required.
* Familiarity with large ERP accounting system,
especially SAP a plus
* Excellent verbal and written
communication, interpersonal skills

and organizational skills
* Ability to solve complex problems
