The Director of Finance at Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health will bring deep management and finance experience rooted in a philosophy of service. This role acts as a creative, inspirational leader to build cohesion within and across departments.
The Director is responsible for the development of the financial management strategy ensuring the organization’s financial and operational strength while contributing to the development of the organization’s strategic goals.
The Director will serve as an integral member of the Leadership Team. This role also serves as the Treasurer of Kripalu’s Board of Trustees. In addition to the strategic components, the Director is responsible for the oversight of the Finance Department.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
Serve as an advisor to the CEO and leadership team. Is a strategic advisor on all financial matters and their impact on the organization.
Serve as a member of the Leadership Team.
Contribute to the development of strategic organizational goals and objectives.
Using the values of the organization, develop and promote a high-performance service culture with a focus on quality execution, results, and continuous improvement.
Advance organizational effectiveness through cross-departmental collaboration and teambuilding.
Assess, inspire, and develop teams necessary to support the organization.
Build a positive, engaged group of leaders that can lead and support their teams effectively and in alignment with company culture.
Analyze current operations and implement recommendations for improvement in efficiencies, cost savings and enhancements to the guest experience
Develop strong relationships with outside partners, vendors, local and state officials, and consultants to ensure successful accomplishment of projects and initiatives.
Work in partnership with direct reports to ensure best practices and motivational leadership are present in their functioning areas.
FINANCE
In partnership with the Leadership Team and the Finance Team, oversee financial planning, budgeting, cash flow, investment priorities, and policy matters to ensure long-term financial sustainability and investment growth that is aligned with the purpose and mission of the organization.
Serve as management liaison to the Finance Committee and the Audit Committee of the Board of Trustees; effectively present and communicate financial matters at select board and committee meetings and provide relevant information on a timely basis in between committee meetings.
Oversee financial cost control and expenditure policies and procedures to ensure that all financial activities are conducted with the highest integrity and fiscal responsibility.
Ensure best practice financial and accounting standards, policies and procedures to provide exceptional financial oversight in compliance with federal and state regulations.
Direct and supervise preparation of financial reports, schedules and forecasts to provide management with timely, accurate financial information.
Manage relationships with external financial and compliance partners such as banks, auditors, leasing agents and others.
Ensure legal and audit compliance with tax-exempt organization laws and regulations.
Direct involvement with capital planning and project analysis
Manage the insurance and risk management programs of the organization.
In partnership with Finance Team, lead organization’s budget process; proactively partnering with all business units on their budgets; identify key business issues and develop and implement solutions – leveraging cross-program knowledge and practices when appropriate.
Create and propose scenarios, financial modeling and frameworks that allow leaders to drive greater impact in their work and to inform strategic planning; translate complex financial information for programmatic leaders.
