About the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) role:

The Chief Financial Officer provides visionary leadership and maintains a culture of excellence throughout the organization. This role supports the overall strategic mission of the organization and its programs and services, ensuring fiscal stability and security, as well as accountability and compliance. The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for effectively communicating financial data and information to the Chief Executive Officer, Board of Directors, and agency team. This person maintains accounting information systems, develops, and monitors budgets for internal and external purposes, manages annual independent audit and other compliance audits, develops, and maintains fiscal metrics, and supervises the Finance, Information Technology, and Property Service Teams.

This is a full-time, exempt position (Monday through Friday).

Responsibilities for this role:

• Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy in alignment with organizational goals and objectives. Provide strategic financial input and leadership. Collaborate with the senior leadership team in the development and execution of the company’s strategic plan. Provide financial insights and recommendations.
• Oversee all aspects of financial management. Ensures accurate and timely financial reporting, analysis, and interpretation of financial data.
• Manage capital allocation, investment strategies, and financial resources. Evaluate and advise on the financial impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs, strategies, and regulatory action.
• Identify and manage financial risks. Implement and monitor effective internal controls to safeguard organizational assets.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards. Conduct compliance audits to ensure financial records are maintained in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations as well as accounting standards and funding agencies.
• Lead and develop a high-performing finance, Technology, and Property Services team fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Provide mentorship and guidance to team members.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Board Members, lenders, and regulatory authorities.

Qualifications we are looking for in a Chief Financial Officer (CFO):

• Master’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field preferred.
• CPA certification is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 10 years related experience, with 5 years’ experience in managing a finance team.
• Knowledge of technology and property services.
• High level proficiency with generally accepted accounting practices and procedures.
• Extensive general ledger, revenue and billing experience, third-party payor preferred.
• Proven experience as a CFO or in a senior financial leadership role for a nonprofit, Health & Human Service Provider preferred.
• Knowledge of Medicaid and EOHHS regulations, preferred.
