Communications Coordinator
Position Summary & Responsibilities
Empower DCF’s ability to engage with audiences through dual languages by guiding the agency’s Spanish-language comms strategy. Develop, coordinate and implement public awareness and internal comm campaigns as part of a dynamic creative, digital, and communications team.
Communicate and collaborate with clients from all agency departments to develop requested communications materials, including but not limited to: Communication plan development. In-depth social media analytics and strategy; Writing; Work in partnership with graphics team and communications specialist. Responsible for the strategic development, coordination, and implementation of communication initiatives, public awareness, and agency-focused campaigns. Develop and implement a strategy that allows DCF to communicate (using all channels available to the team) in dual languages

Qualifications
· Education: post-secondary degree in strategic communication, public relations, journalism, and social media strategy
· Minimum Qualifications: Looking for someone with 4-5 years in a communication field with bilingual skills in English and Spanish.
· Special Knowledge: Expertise in visual storytelling, and graphic design and must be proficient using Adobe Creative Suite.
· Post-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements: Security Clearance: A background check (KBI – criminal background, welfare fraud, driver’s license and Child/Adult Abuse and Neglect Central Registry) is required for all positions with the Department for Children and Families (DCF) as a condition of employment, which may include fingerprinting and FBI check. Security clearance must be obtained prior to employment with DCF.
