J.P. Morgan’s Public Finance team is looking for an entry-level banking support Analyst position in our New York office. J.P. Morgan’s Public Finance Group is responsible for providing investment banking solutions for the complex financing needs of the Firm’s public sector clients. Public Finance clients include state and local governments, non-profit healthcare organizations, higher education, cultural institutions and other entities that issue tax-exempt debt. Client teams are based regionally throughout the country and divided by industry sectors (Banking, Infrastructure, Healthcare, Higher Education, Housing, Energy and Environmental, etc.). The Public Finance Group provides exposure to all aspects of the capital markets by working closely with our sales and trading, underwriting, derivatives, credit origination, and debt capital markets (DCM) desks for prospective and live transactions.
Job Responsibilities
Supporting Banking teams in all facets of new business origination and transaction execution
Managing various tasks associated with new transaction setup and procedural processes in Public Finance proprietary workflow and transaction document storage tool
Assisting in the preparation of responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) required as part of client solicitations
Researching and summarization of data and compliance with SEC Rule 15c2-12 for issuer clients
Assisting in the creation and management of debt profiles for issuers/credits
Management and maintenance of all regulatory (MSRB) documentation required for new offerings
Creation and updating of client folders inclusive of all required transaction documentation
Work closely with all areas of Public Finance, including DCM, syndicate desk, credit origination and investor marketing to assist in the development of pitch materials
Interaction with various professionals in other areas of the Firm to facilitate client presentations, RFPs and execution of bond transactions
Preparation of presentation materials used by bankers and senior management for both internal and external meetings
Required Qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Able to manage projects independently and ready to assume a high level of responsibility as a member of a team
Able to work in a fluid environment, producing accurate, detailed materials under tight deadlines
High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Experience with business intelligence and analytics software (e.g., Tableau) is a plus
Demonstrate academic strength, strong teamwork, communication skills and a high-energy level
Undergraduate degree from an accredited university or higher
