Business Management optimizes business performance by helping to drive key initiatives. We act as trusted advisors and counterweight to Business/Group Heads, and are responsible for identifying, escalating, and mitigating business risks. This position is responsible for supporting strategy, finance, and business management for Global Supplier Services (GSS), part of the Chief Administrative Office of the bank. The business manager is a strategic partner to the head of the function, accountable for providing financial analysis and perspective to senior management, as well as managing the monthly forecast process and annual budget analytics and reporting. This function represents an in-scope headcount of approximately 1,100 employees with a gross expense base of approximately $130 million.
Partner with functional heads to identify and report on key financial and operational metrics to improve the business and enhance operational performance
Preparation, interpretation, and presentation of financial reports to senior management
Direct oversight for the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting
Establishment of strong proactive relationships with all partners
Creation of presentation materials to help support strategy discussions, town halls, and other business driven meetings
Execution of the month-end close process, including interaction with central P&A team to report variance explanations and major forecast drivers
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance; experience in planning, forecasting, and budgeting preferred
Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint and Excel); knowledge of Essbase preferred
Must be a self-starter with a strong work ethic
Solid understanding of key strategic frameworks/ financial concepts and application of same within the firm
Ability to develop, synthesize and present perspectives on key strategic/financial issues
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, creative thinker with ability to simplify concepts and create or oversee the creation of PowerPoint/Pitch Pro documents
Ability to work effectively with senior management and work well under pressure
Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure, and pick up new concepts quickly
Team-player with strong interpersonal skills
