Business Description :
The CIB Treasury P&A team is a group aligned within CIB Treasury whose primary responsibility is the management of forecasts and plan for purposes of managing business activities across Treasury strategies (i.e. balance sheet, funding, liquidity, RWA, capital and leverage strategies). This team is also responsible for providing various analytics for senior management across all the regulatory constraints to support CIB objectives of maximizing return on capital, balance sheet usage and leverage.
Stakeholders of the group include CIB Finance senior management, business heads, product controllers & planning and analysis. The team works extensively with the LOB Product control groups and CIB Treasury to ensure complete and accurate reporting of risk weighted assets, balance sheet and capital for both actuals and forecasts. The group also works closely with the Corporate Finance Reporting, Corporate Treasury, Corporate P&A and firmwide capital management to ensure a complete understanding of business issues and the accurate execution of policies.
Job Description :
The individual will be based in New York and will lead the New York CIB Treasury team in deliverables relating to forecasting and analysis of GSIB and SLR in support of current year forecasts as well in support of the firm’s multi-year budget process. The individual will also help guide other Treasury P&A functions including ongoing strategic projects which improve the firm’s efficient utilization of capital-intensive resources. Responsibilities will include:
Drive GSIB and SLR forecasting, planning and articulation of results. This includes partnering across all CIB sub lines of business (Banking, Markets and Securities Services) to ensure LOB’s produce forecasts that align to latest corporate and line of business level objectives.
Guide and develop production of monthly, quarterly senior-level overviews which articulate CIB total results with a focus on total CIB balance sheet trend results, net funding and net liquidity usage, quarterly NII results as well as the underlying business drivers
Partner closely with LOB’s to ensure a controlled framework for forecasting.
Craft messaging and analysis for Corporate P&A requests on forecasted projections for use in quarterly earnings scripts and CFO-level resource discussions
Partner across line controllers to coordinate weekly/ projections Support ad-hoc requests around interest rate sensitivity, growth initiatives as well as investor day and press release presentations.
Liaise, partner and build strong relationship with key stakeholders across P&A and line controller teams
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field. 5-10yrs of relevant experience; experience in Planning & Analysis, Reporting or Controlling roles a plus.
Familiarity with CIB Balance Sheet products and core lines of business
Strong understanding of stress liquidity concepts
Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
