The J&J Supply Chain is an integrated, global supply chain that serves the needs of the 1 billion people who use J&J products each and every day around the world. We manufacture more than 26 billion product units per year, from raw component sourcing to end product distribution as efficiently and effectively as possible with high quality, compliance and service performance. Our supply chain organization makes up 45% of all J&J employees, and includes 125 internal manufacturing plants, manages 581 external manufacturers, utilizes 459 distribution centers, partners with over 3700 direct suppliers, produces over 300,000 sku’s.
The Manager, Foundational Capabilities will have the responsibility for executing the organizational learning strategy for foundational/technical supply chain capabilities. Content in this area exists within J&J (ie six sigma, and quality), which must be maintained, updated and delivered through training and coaching by an SME. This role will be responsible for process excellence certification program across JJSC, driving the Enterprise BEx strategy and educational solutions, in partnership with JJOS, via CI Maturity/Capability Building. In addition, department will support Master Black Belt, Black Belt and Green Belt projects including scoping/defining appropriate belt projects, developing project metrics and reviewing team projects. This leader must also work very closely with the Segment leaders, SI&D leaders, the Global Talent Management/HR organization and other internal and external partners to flawlessly deploy and align the learning and capability development priorities for JJSC.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement enhanced training competence and capabilities, technologies and methodologies
Support the development and execute the global learning and capability development strategy to lead team in delivering capabilities development in the Foundational/Technical capability.
Translate highly technical concepts into a motivational and easily understanding learning curriculum, and own Process Excellence learning within Supply Chain.
Maintain an outside-in perspective to ensure the latest advancements in innovation are included while maintaining a deep understanding of the current capabilities of the J&J supply chain
Drive partnership, standardization, and efficiency across global enterprise-wide learning initiatives.
Assure the highest levels of internal customer satisfaction by enhancing the learner experience applying adult learning principles and innovation.
Acts as subject matter expert in training, identifying areas of improvement and making recommendations that positively impact the training system
Identifies and manages KPIs for the business in order to drive business process improvements
Approves and directs the creation or acquisition and delivery of training programs that meet the company’s needs via service agreements
Keep abreast of external trends and best practices in Adult Learning and Training by participating in relevant external events to network and gather information that furthers best in class training practices. Demonstrates ability to influence industry trends.
Qualifications
Education:
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Business Administration, Communications, Education, Psychology or Human Resources.
Required
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience is required.
Experience in Developing and deploying learning/training solutions is required.
Some experience in instructional design and understanding/application of the adult learning principles is required.
Preferred
Experience:
Experience with innovation, knowledge management, and training technology platforms
Minimum 2 years experience in Quality and/or Engineering is preferred.
Management of vendor relationships
Management of logistics for learning and development activities.
Organizational change management experience
Analytical skills and experience leading risk-based oversight programs
Executive presentation skills
Collaborative approach and ability to connect
Ability to managing complexity and ambiguity
Other:
The base pay range for this position is 93,000 to 139,000.
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
