The Co-Op opportunity in Finance will be responsible for supporting the External Reporting, Financial Planning and Physical Inventory. Throughout the program, the intern will assist in producing reporting and analysis to our business partners, leadership and to the field (stores). . This is a hands on program, where the Co-Op will experience on the job training and understand what it’s like to work in a corporate finance department. PRINCIPAL DUTIES Real Estate Analysis: help prepare financial evaluations for store locations based on proposals from the Real Estate Department. . Support includes assisting with real estate proforma modeling and payback analysis for store projects. 25% Ad-hoc: Includes various support for all functions within the Strategic Planning & Analysis department including, but not limited to, Strategic Planning, Real Estate Strategy and other financial analysis as needed. . 25% Month-end Close: Assist in the preparation of various journal entries as well as support the review and posting of journal entries into SAP. Support the General Accounting Department in the SAP to Oracle EPM integration and validation process. . 20% Reporting, Planning, and Ad-hoc Analysis: Assist team with the preparation, analysis, and delivery of select weekly and monthly reporting. Year-end / Quarter-end Close: Perform tracking of all Prepared by Client account reconciliations and other documentation in support of the annual audit and quarterly review. . Coordinate follow-ups with E&Y (External Auditors), Internal Audit and various Finance Departments on questions related to the audit / review. Participate in quarterly close review meetings with other Finance Managers in order to provide forecasted adjustments to Executive Management. . External Reporting: Help in the preparation of the External Financial Statements (10K, 10Q), including input of financials into Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow documents and other key Footnotes. Perform validation and tie-outs for external financials by agreeing numbers to appropriate supporting documents. .
