SUMMARY This position provides technical support to the manufacturing departments. . MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Sets-up, maintains, troubleshoots, and adjusts a variety of manufacturing processes. Participates in implementation of approved tooling and process improvements/modifications. . Modifies process documents and procedures for existing products. Analyzes problem root causes and recommends corrective actions. . Assists in technical training of manufacturing staff under the direction of the Manufacturing Engineer and Production Supervisor. Supports production activities as needed. . Complies with established area and company safety policies and procedures. Supports and fosters active participation in, and complies with, corporate values as outlined in the Corporate Values and Expectations Handbook and complies with the Management Systems Manual. . Awareness of job related environmental impacts. JOB SCOPE This position performs in frequently varied and new work situations involving a high degree of complexity. . Work is performed independently and with minimal supervision but under direction of the Manufacturing Engineer. The impact of errors could result in a failure to meet established quality criteria, production schedules or customer requirements. . SUPERVISORY/BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITY This position does not have supervisory responsibility. INTERPERSONAL CONTACTS Contacts are normally made with others both inside and outside the Company and are usually made with other departments or locations. . Contacts contain some discussion about confidential or sensitive matters and are usually made on own initiative. Of the contacts which are made, 15% are on the phone, 85% are face to face, 10% are with customers, and 90% are with non-customers. . PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS Must be mobile, with ability to move around stamping and plating machinery. Must be capable of using personal computer. . Must understand written and verbal communication in English. Must have problem analyzing and troubleshooting skills. . Must be able to handle multiple and diverse priorities. Must be able to work in diverse environments. . Must be able to lift minimum of 25 lbs; must be able to push and/or pull minimum of 40 lbs. Must be able to make decisions without immediate supervision and use independent judgement. . REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND/OR EXPERIENCE Must have technical/engineering skills. Must have ability to gain knowledge of manufacturing equipment and manufacturing practices. . Must have good communication and interpersonal skills. Must have ability to perform high school level math. . Must understand the Metric system and conversions between English and Metric units. Must have ability to read mechanical drawings and component drawings. . Must have proficiency and demonstrated skill with personal computer, including but not limited to: Windows, Word and Excel.
