Primary Function of Position:
The Finance Learning Manager is responsible for building, managing, and conducting trainings for the Finance organization. This individual will collaborate closely with Finance leadership and across all functions to create a training strategy to improve the knowledge and skill of the Finance team including technical training, leadership development, and skill development.
Leadership and Skill Development Training:
Create curricula, agendas and training materials for all skill development and leadership training programs
Partner with Finance Leaders to support the business strategy by aligning all training programs and initiatives to Finance priorities
Collaborate with Finance Leaders to assess the team’s strengths and gaps pertaining to knowledge and skills; Develop programs to address competency gaps
Collaborate with internal partners such as HR, Talent Development, Global Business Services, and other cross functional partners to standardize business processes
Manage contractors and instructional designers to develop a customized training curriculum for new managers, Finance Onboarding, and technical training
Design, build, and execute a leadership development curriculum to develop world class leaders
Contribute to the creation of a Finance specific Women in Leadership program and programs for underrepresented populations
Effectively present and deliver training content for leadership and skill development training
Leverage various formats and venues for training programs, such as instructor-led, self-led, distance learning/remote, video and podcast, etc. to maximize the impact of the content
Collaborate closely with Organization Health Council to support development initiatives and ensure training content is aligned
Responsible for program management of all training courses
Technical Training:
Maintain a foundation of technical skill knowledge for the purposes of building effective programs and coaching Training Leads on content creation and facilitation
Evaluate Training Lead candidates and certify their ability to present technical training
Conduct a needs assessment in various Finance functions to evolve the course catalog
Assess and determine if training is to be conducted internally or in partnership with external vendors
Present a quarterly summary to senior Finance leaders – activities, results, and action plan
Grow, refine, and lead a technical training curriculum to support analysts and managers through the Finance team’s tools, processes, and best practices
Manage a dotted-line team of 6 international training leads, who commit 20% of bandwidth to training. Coach them to excellence in presentation, communication, and leadership skills.
Develop and refine Finance trainings for non-finance professionals
Program Management:
Collaborate with Finance VPs and Directors to assess training needs and create a training plan
Forecast annual program needs to meet organizational growth
Measure effectiveness of training programs and develop reports to create a comprehensive program analysis
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
Minimum B.S./B.A. Degree required
Minimum 3+ years of relevant work experience
Minimum 2+ years of Corporate Training or Training Management experience, preferred
Finance technical skills are a plus (Excel, Tableau, SQL, Hyperion, and Anaplan)
Ability to give feedback and coach others
Aptitude to organize and curate training content and programs
Proven ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written
Excellent presentation skills and ability to facilitate training programs
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Ability to excel in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
Highly organized and able to operate independently while supporting multiple projects concurrently
Ability to build global trainings that are effective for native and non-native English speakers
Ability to travel approximately 25% to support global training needs
