The Director, Marketing is a valued member of our Marketing Operations Team and is responsible for leading a portfolio of sterile injectable pharmaceutical products in both acute and non-acute space institutions and managing a team of marketers.
This position requires a combination of P&L strategy, management and promotional marketing and team leadership.
This management position will spearhead strategic planning for upstream US generic injectable marketing, have overall product management responsibility for Company inline and pipeline product portfolio, work closely with field sales, contracting and pricing, as well as supply chain management to drive business growth achieving both revenue and market share targets.
This individual will partner across the organization to drive US market strategies, business development plans, molecule forecasts and strategies, budgets and presentations regarding annual marketing direction and organizational growth.
He / She will support managing team meetings and strategic alignment conversations for the Company and Company family teams as required.
Finally, He / She will oversee a team of marketers including portfolio leads, NPL lead, business analytics and insights lead, and promotional marketing.
This position reports to the SVP of Commercial Operations and is based out of our East Windsor, NJ offices.
Responsibilities :
Development of the generic injectable marketing plan and strategy, individual molecule strategies, and new product launch plans and strategies
Develop annual forecasts for new and existing products, working with multiple departments to Product valuable input and insights into potential impacts to forecasts including market landscape, competitive intelligence, trends and customer needs / behavior
Oversee management of P&L for portfolio of all products including, pricing, forecasting, budget, bids and other financial targets;
may be responsible for key molecules
Manage team of marketers including ensuring quality of work, training, and delivery of work product to meet business objectives
Act as member of US leadership team, partnering closely with sales colleagues to drive customer uptake and financial performance
Lead marketing planning (annual marketing plan) competitive research, market landscape analysis, development of molecule plans and budgets, presentations to leadership
Develop and support the implementation of short- and long-term business strategies and tactics to reach financial targets and expand use of specialty pharmaceuticals
Actively engage and support selling efforts by working in close collaboration with Sales on product needs, new bid opportunities and customer communications
Independently interpret and analyze data and messaging for Sales use with customers
Recommend promotional product strategies and tactics to engage customers and drive engagement and product preference
Understand distinct needs of various customers within acute and non-acute categories and develop communications and solutions to engage them
Identify product differentiation and develop messaging and campaigns to drive product uptake; may include therapy area messaging, presentation messaging, or other differentiating factors
Collaborate with cross-functional partners and vendors to develop of comprehensive marketing collateral based on clinical indication driven market segments, including design and execution of messaging, promotional materials, sales tools, and proof sources
Lead marketing development of annual sales meeting strategies, messaging, collateral, and training effort to ensure effective pull-through and contract compliance
Analyze market opportunities and support the development of strategies to create compelling value propositions and competitive positioning
Manage NPL lead to develop and execute effective launch plans for new product launches
Oversee strategy, messaging, and execution approach for relevant trade shows and exhibitions; develop plans specific to products in your portfolio.
Monitor and track competitive intelligence, market landscape and product performance to continually optimize plans to meet forecasts
Product market and competitive insights from market research, customers and field-based personnel and management for communication tools and messaging development
Oversee planning of advisory boards, market research, and consultant meetings to support or validate strategies and tactics
Oversee marketing communications in developing and implementing social media outreach and content to LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, email / email campaigns
Maintain and keep branding and messaging relating products and portfolio on our website and LinkedIn consistent and up to date
Qualification :
Bachelors Degree in Business or a related field; MBA preferred
Minimum of 7 years of experience customer-facing product marketing in the sterile injectables field required
Generic pharmaceutical experience preferred
Strong understanding of customer & competitor behavior, promotion process, product management and pricing.
Strong understanding and experience in working with Excel for product analysis requirements.
Strong understanding and experience in utilizing IMS for product research.
Proven track record of managing generic injectable product launches.
Must be willing and able to travel up to 20% of the time
