Job Description

Duties:

• Oversee FBFM balance sheet, income statement, budget, and metrics

• Communicate implications of business decisions to leadership, board, and staff

• Analyze finances to improve key business decisions

• Design growth strategies that boost member value and organization soundness

• Ensure efficient capital expenditures

• Prepare financial reports and present results

• Prepare operating and capital budgets

• Implement and maintain fiscal policies & procedures

• Provide useful financial insights to make better decisions and executing business strategy

• Establish internal control processes

• Work effectively as a leader of the accounting team

• Drive effective internal and external financial communication

• Invest in and manage financial relationships

• Understand, evaluate, identify insurance needs

• Coordinate, analyze and report financial performance to leadership and board

• Prepare short and long-term financial forecasts of financial performance

• Oversee audit and tax functions, coordinate activities with outside audit firms

• Develop, implement and maintain accounting and administrative policies and procedures

• Complete professional development in finance and leadership

• Proficiency in all aspects of accounting and financial reporting

Important Skills include: Analytical, communication, computer, decision making, detail oriented, math, accounting

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Ag Business, Ag Education, Business, or a related field

• Agriculture/Farming background or a working knowledge of farm operations, the ag industry, and accounting/finance principles.

Preferred Skills:

• Master’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Ag Business, Ag Education, Accounting, Business, Finance or a related field.

• Strong background in accounting & financial management.

• CPA or Enrolled Agent or other professional financial certification

• Effective utilization of computer technology, software and applications.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Outstanding organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload.

• Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem solving and analytical skills.

• A self-starter who can manage time wisely and work under limited supervision.
