Responsibilities
The People Partner conducts, communicates, and coordinates people related programs and activities for assigned employee populations for designated corporate support functions. Is also responsible for supporting key Executives on a global basis. Executes processes and practices that support an employee-oriented, high performance culture emphasizing empowerment, productivity, engagement and ongoing development for all levels of the workforce. Partner with management to drive people focused initiatives including integrated talent management, performance management, compensation management, workforce planning, succession planning and organizational development strategies as we further refine and expand our People and Transformation capabilities and processes.
This person will be able to positively influence change across the organization and must be able to partner with the assigned leadership team(s) in defining talent needs and developing the scope of related projects. This position requires the ability to set and to manage within tight timelines and effectively work in an ever-changing Matrix environment. This position can be located in Reno or Las Vegas, NV or Rhode Island and will report to the Senior Director P&T People Partner Corporate Support and is expected to work in a hybrid work environment.
The People Partner will perform the following functions:
Handle all escalated employee relations issues and concerns working with internal partners and senior leaders to determine resolutions. Must be experienced with internal investigatory processes and how to ensure outcomes are fair, consistent, and compliant with company policies and applicable laws and regulations.
Coach and consult with managers and team members on various people issues by identifying and clarifying problems and evaluating and implementing solutions. Drive the annual performance and compensation review processes for assigned groups.
Provide oversight of the staffing process including workforce planning and ensure compliance with compensation guidelines and approvals. Provide input on salary recommendations.
Assist with regular leadership and succession planning sessions and implement action plans to ensure succession ready bench and development of high potentials.
Support and collaborate with fellow team members on projects that impact designated client groups and/or company-wide people focused initiatives.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
Actively engage in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Serve as a primary point of contact for employee questions and concerns regarding company policies and procedures.
Liaise with extended network of local people partners for domestic and international assigned groups along with working closely with centers of expertise within the HR organization.
Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
6-8 years of Generalist/HR Business Partner experience supporting multiple local and international client groups.
Proven expertise in talent management, workforce planning, change management, organizational development, and other strategic people related programs supporting corporate organizations such as Finance and Accounting, is preferred.
Bachelor’s in Human Resources, Organization Development, Business Administration, or another related field required.
Prior experience working for a large global corporation supporting 300+ employee group.
Demonstrated success working in a fast paced, Matrix global environment, with a track record of accomplishments with measurable business impact. Ability to quickly learn new skills, systems, and procedures – adaptable.
Experience with creating lasting change using intentional organizational design and development practices.
Full knowledge of legal implications of the employment relationship.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. Ability to establish and sustain relationships at all levels of the organization.
Strong organizational skills, flexibility, and ability to handle stressful situations in a professional manner.
Demonstrated ability to gather, analyze, and utilize data to influence business decisions.
Intermediate to Advanced level experience with Excel to include formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis functions such as VLOOKUP.
Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset and familiarity with continuous improvement practices.
Excellent project management skills. Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
Must be self-motivated and able to work both independently and as a team member.
Strong business acumen.
Willing and able to travel domestically as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
HR Certification (SHRM or HRCI) desired
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and HRIS systems.
